Delicious, whether you call it Grade B or Grade A Dark
Delicious—everything a flavorful maple syrup should be, and reasonably priced. Being organic is a big plus as well.I've always lived in upstate NY or Vermont, so I'm picky about my syrups and used to shun any kind of wimpy Grade A. The USDA, however, recently changed the names of different maple syrup types. So this is important:" Grade B" is now "Grade A Dark Color & Robust Flavor."All of the grades have been re-classified to some degree. The Vermont Maple Sugar Makers Association provides a brief description of the changes. The USDA has even more info.Roxbury Mt.'s "Grade A Dark et al." is an excellent choice if you love maple flavor. This grade is perfect both for applying to breakfast products and for baking. If the flavor is stronger than you're used to, just mix it with agave syrup or corn syrup—this can also make it a little more affordable. As far as I'm concerned, the major use for anything lighter than "Grade A Dark et al." is for sipping (straight up).For maple syrup trivialists, Grade C syrup still exists as "Grade A So-dark-it's-not-really-useful-for-much" or something like that. It's available to commercial customers commercials and occasionally the odd food co-op or syrup producer. The flavor is as intense as a dark unsulphured molasses and just as overwhelming. Stick with the Grade B/Grade A Dark et al" for general household use.

Good stuff--packaging needs looking at
The syrup was fine--the lid--not so much. It's a good thing the opening has that sealed-on plastic strip that manufacturers use to cap the top, because the lid itself (both parts) were cracked and falling off. I had to remove the lid and wash it, along with the bottle, as some sort of dirt/grease had gotten on it. The top half of the lid has a hole for pouring, and this part screws to the bottle. The other half is supposed to be hinged to the cap, and snaps down over the lid, covering the hole. I'm thinking of putting the syrup into another, more secure container, because if this bottle tips over, that's it--it'll all run out. As for the cap itself, it seemed to be brittle, as if it was not molded properly by whatever factory manufactured it.Other than that, the product is fine.

The Whole Family Loves It. Simply Delicious
This maple syrup is delicious. At first I bought the half gallon and it was finished very quickly. I bought the 1 gallon just recently and it is almost done, so today I bought another 1 gallon. It is important to me that my family eats as healthy as possible. The other syrups in the supermarkets are made with so much chemical that I simply refused to buy them for my family. Unfortunately, the organic stores in my area are very expensive, so I decided to find something cheaper on Amazon and found this. I am very happy that I did and so is my wallet. The syrup is dark in color and have a strong flavorful taste. The syrup itself is not too thick and is very sweet. I am happy with it and would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent maple syrup from the Catskills
I use a lot of grade B maple syrup not just to top challah French toast, but also in recipes where I often substitute some or all of the dark sugar with maple syrup. This is also an essential ingredient in the maple Dijon vinaigrette that dresses our first course salad every Thanksgiving. This product from Roxbury Mountain met all my expectations for a deep, robust maple flavor, a standard I'm measuring against previously enjoyed brands such as Coombs and Hidden Springs. Yes, it's from upstate NY and not VT, but considering the terrain of that region and the abundance of maple-producing trees, I trusted this would be just as good, and it is. Will purchase again - I'm a fan.

Central New York Syrup
Having moved to Florida 6 years ago, I haven't been able to get CNY syrup here. I have been having family send it down. When I saw the 607 area code on this product I knew it was from my home region. I have always used Marathon syrup and am sure this will be of the same quality. CNY syrups pair nicely with New Hope Mills mixes.

this maple syrup is good for what I need
I ordered this maple syrup before and it worked for my master cleanse. I discovered that the syrup organization had renamed the grades of syrup and grade b is now grade a. I'm not sure why the organization needed to rename the grades but they did. Anyway, this maple syrup is good for what I need.
