The Dream Spirit Beings were inspired by my love of the magic and belief of the Native American Dream Catchers. Using a wreath made of branches, i wove sticks and branches gathered in nature onto the circle with sari ribbon and cord to create the base. The Spirit Beings' faces are hand sculpted with ecofriendly clay, painted in earth tone hues of bronze, copper and gold. Adorning the larger face are semiprecious stones, turquoise, moonstone, rose quartz, abalone and mother of pearl with glass beads. Mother of Pearl symbolizes unconditional motherly love. Rose Quartz is the stone of love in all forms. Turquoise is used by the Native Americans for protection and healing. It is is one of the birthstones for December. Abalone is very soothing to the emotions.Moonstone holds memories of past lives and moon magic. This Spirit Being wears a dress of hand painted cheesecloth of blues, purples and white. A baby Spirit Being nestled in the cheesecloth was hand sculpted with paper clay. Fresh water pearls and a mallard duck feather adorn this spirit. Wire wrapped with glass beads, real mallard duck, pheasant and peacock feathers with moss, grass and twigs are places around the entire wreath. Feathers are perceived as gifts from the sky, the sea and the trees. Ducks represent prosperity, the water element and in China they are a symbol for a happy marriage. Pheasants represent fertility. Peacocks symbolize good fortune, protection, royalty, showing one's true colors and abundance.Three 9 inch gorgeous full peacock feathers dangle from the wreath. Wire hanger attached on back. Easy to hang on wall. Please note these Spirit Beings are fragile and are not for children to play with. Handle with love and care. Do not place outside or in direct sunlight. Keep away from pets. Make a wish when they are placed in their new home. Created by jeanie mossa at the Planet Calamari Studio in Alexandria VA, USA
