Ancient Piece of Crap
I purchased this "display teaching toy" to go along with several Ancient Egyptians themed play sets (pieces) I had purchased for a Christmas present. The picture makes everything look very nice and the pieces that come with the display kit solid; well looks can be (and are) deceiving.I expected the pyramid to be made of cardboard; and it was. It was nicely detailed on the outside to pass for a pyramid; semi-thick cardboard covered in a shiny, laminated cardstock, and has several pictures and information blurbs scattered about the inside to provide that educational edge this particular toy company was going for. That, however, is just about where the solid structure aspect of this piece comes to an end.The rest of what is pictured: The Pharaoh statue, the Tomb and those side Baluster things you see in the picture? You know those cheap plastic party/toy hats you can buy in the Dollar store for New Year's or those play plastic Fireman Helmets? You know what a thin, soft plastic they are made out of and sometimes you can almost see right through them? Well that is what The Pharaoh statue, the tomb and those side Baluster things are made out of.The plastic is so flimsy that there is an actual piece of (thin) cardboard taped to the back of The Pharaoh statue. I was actually able to wrap these very pieces around one of my fingers. They do pop back into shape, but honestly, if you felt like it, you could tear these pieces in half like a sheet of paper.I do not even know if the "Mummy Sounds" even work because the person I bought this for never even made a mention if they pulled out the battery tab or not. The guess if it would probably work is anyone's. I did notice that there was a lot of (blobs and strands) of hot glue surrounding where the battery goes and (should it happen to work)there doesn't seem to be any way of actually getting to the battery to change it (although I could be wrong). What comes in the box:(1) Cardboard Pyramid(1) Solid Plastic Pyramid Cover (to hold the pyramid up, the pyramid comes folded up like a Monopoly board - yes, I am not kidding that little piece of plastic and two plastic looking "ribs" are what hold the back half of the pyramid together)(2) Plastic "Ribs"(1) Solid Plastic Three (3) Inch Molded Mummy(1) Solid Plastic Sarcophagus Cover(2) Solid Plastic Canopic Jars(1) Solid Plastic Box with Key (Small)(1) Flimsy Plastic The Pharaoh statue(1) Flimsy Plastic Tomb(1) Flimsy Plastic Side Balusters(1) Flimsy Plastic Reveal Dial(1) Sheet Hieroglyphics/Label Stickers(4) Small plastic snap cases of washable paint (Black, Yellow/Gold, Light Blue, Orange/Red)(1) Plastic reusable Paint Brush(1) Instructional Manuel/Fact Booklet (3 pgs)Recap:I purchased this product and I really shouldn't have. If it had been for myself or for my child I would have opened the box and after seeing what was inside, sent it back on its merry way from whence it came. However, since it was a gift I didn't know what it was going to look like, until the other person opened it. The person it was for, did enjoy putting it together, no matter how crappy I thought it was. So I guess that kind of counts?I bought this product for about $7.50 on sale-- still too much money (for this particular item) in my opinion. If you do decide to purchase this kit, I'd say pay no more than $5.00 tax/shipping included or better yet if you can find it stocked at your local Dollar store that would probably be all this crappy little kit is worth, but certainly not the overly priced $20+ Dollars I've seen it listed for on this and other sites.Lesson Learned: Be Careful What You Buy (Educational or Otherwise).

This was so cool
It was not the best, we had fun with this kit but it is cheaply made. I would not recommend it

Piece of garbage!
This is the biggest piece of garbage around - the internal parts are the cheaprest possible plastic, they're way to samll for anything but an artist to paint, and the plastic things that hold it together don't work. Avoid!!

Good Educational Value
I have always been fascinated by the Egyptian culture and was floored when I saw this. I got this for my children in hopes one of them would find a liking to it as well. My little girl ended up being so intrigued by this piece, she has been talking non-stop about pyramids and mummy's! It was very easy for the two of us to put it together and once we were finished, it looked very nice. My son ended up being intrigued by the sound effects and the hieroglyphic symbol decoder. All in all, we were all pleased with the product.
