Reinforced QD Post Assemply for M14/M1A Thicker Suptermatch & Mcmillan Stocks

It's a Sadlak product! Easy install, works perfectly.

This worked very well on my M1A. The screws are a little long and will interfere with the op rod, but they can be trimmed with a simple dremel type tool. Otherwise simple install.

Used for attaching a bipod to a NM walnut stock. Have tried other mounting lugs with limited success. wanted something that would not damage or crack the stock.Initially installed with no modifications. operating rod would not cycle due to the inner plate interfering with the op rod.Using a Dremel tool, relieved and contoured the inner area so that the inner plated was almost flush with the stock.Also had to grind the screws to shorten the length.Re-oiled the raw areas of the stock and now works fine. Total time was approximately 1/2 hour start to finish.check out the photos

These few bits of metal, for $40? I expected better I suppose. Purely my opinion, but for the money:- the screws should be the correct length, out of the box/bag; make stock-specific kits (fiberglass, wood, synthetic) to avoid this issue- custom fitting the mount to the stock; meh- having to cut the screws to fit; meh- and maybe I'm odd, but none of my drill bit kits had a 9/32 bitI have one of their scope mounts as well, and its well made and it was relatively painless to install, IDK, I just feel like this should be a bolt on affair.

Great product but make sure you don't order this for a standard stock as the screw is too long.

It took a hell of a lot of careful grinding to smooth down the ends of the screws enough within the stock for the operating rod to ride over top without rubbing. I own and operate a gun shop and do my own gunsmithing. I recommend handing this one off to your local gunsmith. It involves some complex and delicate operations with specialized tools. After the install is done though, it is beautiful. It works great. I highly recommend this for any M1A.
