Perfect polish of my sapphire watch crystal
I bought the Lapping Paste Polishing Compound set to remove a very noticeable scratch from the sapphire crystal of my watch. The scratch was in the bubble (lens) and easily visible without magnification. After watching a few videos on how to do it, I tested the compound (1.0 and 0.5 only) on a softer glass--no damage. So I progressed to my watch. Taped off the areas not to be affected, put small drops of (1.0) compound on the bubble and started rubbing with a lens cleaning cloth (no tools), checking the progress every few minutes. It took me maybe 5 rounds and about 10 minutes to remove most marks. I then switched to the 0.5 compound to remove any remaining micro-scratches. Then finally, I finished off with an additional polishing step using a Cap Cod cloth. The scratch completely disappeared together with any micro-scratches. Very happy with the result. Others have criticized the quality of the paste--it worked for me.

Perfect for lapidary!
One thing my hobbies have taught me is the importance of the right tool for the right job. I have some amazonite beads that I wasn’t happy with. The color and finish looked dull to me. At first, I put them in a rock tumbler which helped their color but they came out frosted! I tried buffing with and without an old wax based buffing compound and I got poor results. Within minutes my beads looked beautiful. Would this stuff get the rust off your grill, the corrosion off a car part or scratches out of tempered glass? Probably not. But it’s great for jewelry use.

Works as expected.
Takes longer to polish than other materials I have bought through jewelry makers. However, for the price, it can't be beat. Just be patient and work through the grits. It may take a little longer, but the results are the same. Caps could have been more secured on the syringes. The units did leak a bit of oil into the inner and outer packaging. No effect on performance.

Wish They Had The Grit Written on Them
These are marked with single digit numbers instead of the actual grit level that's in them. Probably an industry practice that I wasn't aware of. Not much cutting action in this stuff at all. Good for really small fine polishing I suppose.

Fantastic
I use these on a flat lap - on felt that I’ve cut out from adhesive back sheet and stuck to a cork backing also cut from adhesive backed sheet. Rub into the felt and let it dry/absorb and use with just enough water to lubricate. It’s incredible. Far superior to the other diamond lapping pastes.

Great stuff, good delivery
Delivery and Appearance were as advertised. Using this product to put a final polish on steel. The grit weights are really good and are evenly distributed. The solid steel for my project had swirl marks from other polishing, grinding and forging; and, those swirl marks ran through a decorative engraving. Using this product, all the different grit weights, and in order from W10 to W0.5, the swirl marks were polished away, the steel has a beautiful luster, and the engraving remained intact. I recommend a good set of buffing wheels. I used a different wheel for each grit weight; and, a double ply paper towel to wipe away excess polishing paste. That's important so as to maintain consistent polishing control throughout the task. Mixing grits on a single wheel defeats the purpose of using different grits and reduces the effectiveness of the finer grits. The paper towel wipe helps keeps the work clean before applying paste. Good luck and God Bless America.

Inconsistent particle sizes in grits
Used to polish some stone jewelry. First couple of grits did fine, then started polishing with the next step (after thoroughly rinsing stones, hands, work area, etc. and using a brand new unused felt wheel on dremel) only to find it contained at least one larger particle that ruined the polish and caused me to go backwards several grits to try and repair the damage and back to sandpaper to avoid it from happening again.

I don't know if it's me or if it's the product, but I can't see much difference in results of polishing with the different grades.
