exactly what i expected.
This was an intel Core i5-4460 used in a box with a cooler sold by itrade for 72.99as this is an old chip i'm not going to review it directly except to say its really not useful for modern games. Instead I wanted to take a moment to review the seller since this was a used item. I was a bit wary of buying a used CPU. The only new one I could find was at double the price. So I took a chance and itrade came through with flying colors. I got the CPU in what looks like its original box with a CPU cooler and they even added thermal paste (Kudos! A small thing but shows attention to detail). It was a perfect replacement for my intel core i3 to give my home workstation new life after its upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 really took more power than my i3 had. I swapped out the i3 for the i5 and its been running continuously for a week without issue. Infact, its running on the very machine I am using to write this review. Good Job guys!

Great Gaming CPU!
I purchased this CPU as an upgrade from an AMD X4 860K and this has been quite an upgrade, I have noticed a performance increase of around 10-30 Frames Per Second in all games that I run on my current machine, this CPU has 4 high powered cores and 4 threads which make this a perfect CPU for games and light work loads, this CPU does start to struggle a little on multi-threaded workloads like Computer Aided Design programs and when editing high end videos and photos in programs like Sony Vegas and Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, because this CPU lacks a higher thread count and Hyper-Threading, but this CPU really gets to flex its muscles and show its true potential in games where this CPU is perfect. If you are looking for a mid-range gaming CPU, this CPU is definitely worth the price tag, unless you want to overclock your i5 and get more performance out of it I would go for something like a 4690K which is around $40 more, but in other words I highly recommend this product.

Great Processor for all of my needs.
First of all, I love this processor. It has been a great piece of hardware for a very reasonable price. My computer is nothing special, I built it on a budget to mostly do homework and a some video game playing on light video games and this processor has been able to do everything I've needed with ease.Second of all, I had a heck of a time getting this part, but not because of Amazon. USPS was supposed to deliver this item and they lost it even though they marked it as delivered. I was looking forward to receiving this and was hanging out by the door on the day it was supposed to be delivered and I got a notification from Amazon stating that the package had been delivered, but nothing was at my home. I worked with customer service and they were very cordial and helpful and helped me get the situation straightened out with the carrier to get my product.

Super Fast
I used this in a desktop computer I custom built for my wife. She previously had a small form factor desktop computer and constantly complained that it "took forever" to do things. So I set out to build a super fast desktop computer for her. A core I7 would have been faster, but I decided that since she doesn't do gaming an I7 would not be worth the extra expense. The core I5 is fine for non-gamers, I think. I put an SSD drive as the C: drive and gave it a 2T E: drive, where I moved all of her document files (pics, docs, downloads, music, etc). 8 GB of DDR3 RAM finished the speed improvements. When it came time to give the new desktop computer a name, what did I give it? You guessed it super fast! No, I mean the name of the computer is "SUPER FAST" :-)! Now I only hear, "Wow, Photoshop loaded instantly!" and "I can't believe it booted so quickly." and "This laptop is really slow." LOL

Core i5 Much Faster Than My Old i3
Although this Core i5 is an older LGA1150, 4400 series, it is still significantly faster than the i3 that I replaced. I performed various benchmark tests on the old system before removing the i3, then again with the i5, and the increased CPU speed is dramatic. About 40% - 50% faster (score of 3000 vs 7000, respectively). Wow. And for the same price that I paid for the i3 (which I don't know why I ever even bothered buying). As far as real-world application goes, the performance of 1080p video projects in Adobe Premiere Pro CC has greatly increased, with multiple layers of effects, as well as 3D programs such as 3DS Max and Blender.Well worth the upgrade, especially since it takes less than 5 minutes to swap out the old for the new.

Best price compared to surrounding processors precs and prices.
I built my own gaming computer and this is the CPU I put into it.Pro's-Runs cool (compared to a Amd processor of similar specs, and installing a after market CPU cooler which I explain in con's)Has a great amount of processing power, compared to the i5 4440, its a good step up for the money difference.(i5 4460, 3.2 GHZ $188.00/ i5 4440, 3.1 GHZ $189.98) Kinda a no brainerAlso Check out the i5 4590 its on sale and you can get '.1' GHZ more processing power for $10 more...lolCon's-The CPU cooler that intel has been using for who knows how long is junk I used it first before my after market CPU came in and my computer was running at 132 F on MSGV (Metal Gear Solid V) and ultra settings and after I installed a $32.00 CPU cooler i peaked at about 104 F~Highly suggest ordering one with some extra thermal paste as well (make sure its good thermal paste or it wont be worth your time)OH! BTW if installing Thermal probe do not place in between CPU chip and CPU cooler or on sides under the clamp that keeps the chip in place.
