Great Quality Extractor Fan – Quiet and Efficient
I installed the Xpelair C4HTSR 4-inch extractor fan in my bathroom, and it has been working perfectly. It’s quiet, even when running on the higher setting, and does a great job of clearing steam and moisture quickly. The humidity sensor is a great feature, as it automatically turns on when needed, which is really convenient.Installation was straightforward, and the adjustable timer makes it easy to customize how long it runs after the room is used. It also looks sleek and modern, blending in well with the bathroom decor.Overall, it’s a reliable and efficient fan that does exactly what it’s supposed to. Highly recommended!

A decent fan
The actual cover is quite large but looks smart and is useful for covering up messy walls from where the duct/wiring is. Easy enough to install. It's quite quiet but this is more down to a less powerful fan and less airflow to similar fans

Worth the money
Quiet and easy to fit. The overrun and humidistat are good features and can be adjusted to your needs. This was a good price for the features.

Doesn’t turn off. Cover awkward to remove.
Bought 2 of these to replace 30yr old humidity controlled fans that had discoloured. They are no quieter. The cover is a nightmare to remove requiring considerable force with a screwdriver. And the controls can only be accessed by removing it.But most disappointing is that it doesn’t turn itself off - runs for 12+ hours after use. So have a shower in the evening and it runs, noisily, all night even on a warm, dry summer’s day. This is on the highest humidity setting and the shortest timer setting so no further adjustments possible. One bathroom has an isolator switch- turning this off then immediately back on stops it so the humidity has obviously reduced to the level at which it should turn off. Unfortunately our en suite has no isolator switch….

Worth buying will make a big difference
This was a great fan powerful, very quiet. Instructins could be improved as well as taking front off.We had it working for a four days and already. Made a big difference to our bathroom.. Reduced dampness and feels cleaner. Overlall very pleaseed.

Great until it’s not
Fan worked great for 9 months and loved the fact humidity kept it on instead of just a timer. Unfortunately after this time it fused electrics as condensation was collecting inside. Manufacturer refused a warranty claim as apparently could tell from photos it wasn’t wired up properly and screws were loose (despite working for 8 months and screws not being loose). Amazon refunded but just be careful.

Quiet compared to competition, and humidistat is perfect
This replaced a cheaper 100mm fan which ran off an isolator switch. This new fan is running off of the same switch permanently on, with the fan powering on when the room has high humidity - perfect for our use case where we want it to be able to handle for humidity without our intervention.Has two semicircle flaps to prevent backdraught which work reasonably well, a fixing-less clamp arrangement on each side, and two fascias. Not the easiest mechanism to remove the casing to get to the controls - these could be placed somewhere accessible - but otherwise a good investment so far.

Humidity sensor too sensitive and not adjustable enough
The extractor fan was reasonably easy to fit and runs fairly quietly. My main disappointment is that the humidity sensor adjustment doesn't seem to make any difference and it runs for 6 to 12 hours plus after having a shower (even with the window open now the weather is warmer).I have adjusted the timer so it only runs for a few minutes after manually turned on and off.The other adjustment doesn't seem to make any difference to the sensitivity to humidity and always is too sensitive. The fan will automatically come on within a few minutes of someone just being stood underneath the fan!I fitted the fan a few months after buying it, so unable to return it as faulty. There is at least one other review that seems to suggest the same fault.I will try talking to Xpelair customer service to see what they suggest as it's supposed to have a two year warranty.
