Makes my life easier!
Picture Keeper is a great item for anyone not wanting to go through the process of backing up photos. This is basically a flash drive with some programming that makes it easier to do it. Many might say it would be cheaper and just as easy to backup to a regular flash drive, and that might be true for some. However, when I started using this product a couple years ago, I had pictures in many different folders in many different locations on my computer. Some pictures were duplicated in several folders for different reasons, some intentionally, some unintentionally. I had over 10000 pictures, so copying to a flash drive was a huge undertaking initially. Plus, the idea of backing up every time I added new photos to my computer, which is quite often, did not appeal to me. So, I tried one of these. It worked great! It was simple and did not take much time on my part at all...just a few minutes. I used up a 16 on that first go around and purchased another. The actual back up took over an hour, but I just left and come back when it was done. When backing up to the next one, the programming on the PK did all the work of determining which pictures have already been backed up and then only backed up new items. I was thrilled!Recently I purchased a third one and had a bit of trouble with it. It is the version 2, and my first two PKs were version 1. If you have an older version and are buying a new version to continue backing up new pictures, CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE FIRST because there could be some issues with updating all of your previous PKs. Basically, I had to reset all of my previous PKs and re-backup everything. I still had all of my pictures on my computer, so that wasn't a problem for me. Customer service is great though and will walk you through what needs to be done. Do not try to reset before you call though as there may be a simpler way than this.At first I was a bit annoyed, but after it was all done, I am very happy. For one thing, the new programming recognizes duplicates, so it won't back up the same picture more than once. I went from needing three 16s to only using 1.5 16s. So now I have an empty third one to use in the future. Second, it is even easier to use and has some additional features that make it friendlier with other applications. It is snazzy!I would also like to mention, that the estimated number of pictures each PK holds differs depending on the size of your pictures. My PK 16 held 8800 pictures, not the maximum 16000.

Could be improved
Others have pointed to two problems:size (in terms of number of pictures) a little deceptive, since you can get only low resolution pictures at the advertized capacity. In general expect about 25% of the number (i.e. 16 will hold less than 4000 pictures)Indiscriminately copies all visual materials (slides, advertisements, junk as well as photos). But this is a very good idea and can be improved by better software interface and truth in advertising. Also the price to value ratio is easily improved by providing larger drives (e.g. the 16 should have a 64 mb capacity).I contacted customer service by email and got a prompt and polite response to my question about resetting the drive. You have to go thru several steps (not hard) that are not evident from the literature.

No fuss picture saving
Some folks complain about the price for a "flash drive". Well, it takes ALL the hassle out of saving lots of photos. I must use the higher pixels because it doesn't hold as many as it says it could but I just got a larger storage device. I feel good knowing all my pictures are safe and it makes sharing easy. I think this is a great idea for folks who are not tech savy or just don't want to do the labor intensive task of saving each file separately.

A COMPLETE FAILURE
I bought PK several years ago, easily loaded my precious photos bc I couldn’t be sure the cloud, computer, or iPad/Phone were reliable. I placed the cap on the drive, stored it and directions in an envelope, and placed it in my desk drawer. Climate controlled year round, etc. I tried to get the photos I wanted for a funeral video yesterday. Bottom line, IT WILL NOT WORK.! The drive is not recognized by any computers I tried, no files can be retrieved. Worse yet, Tony in customer “service” was full of excuses and long winded explanations and finally downright arguments about how I had not used the product properly. This product DID NOT DO WHAT IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO. A complete failure and NO help nor support from the company.

I liked the ease in using this flash drive
PK- Picture Keeper (, photo capacity)...I liked the ease in using this flash drive, however it advertizes that it can hold 16,000 photos. It only hled just under 12,000. I had to buy another one in order to back up my remaining photos off my computer.

Excellent!!!
Excellent! Works as advertised! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!The only suggestion is----think about how many photos you have!!!!You can go to the website and download a program that you can convert your external hard drive into your storage device! This way you are only limited by the hard drive storage space.I called them and they really helped me with the recommendation for the storage program and how to use it.I have a Mac Pro and you have to do a few things before it will let you get it to work

Very pleased...
I am very happy with the Picture Keeper. It did exactly what it said it was suppose to do. Just plug it in to the USB port and let it do it's thing. I have a Mac computer and there were no issues at all.If there is any down fall to it, that would be that it doesn't hold as many photos as you might think. It took 2 1/2 of the PK16 to load less than 10,000 pictures!

Picture Keeper works as promised
I take a lot of cellphone pics that end up everywhere on my computer. I needed to save my pics so I could reformat my C drive. This product did it flawlessly without me spending hours searching. Yeah, it's a flash drive but it's a flash drive with an incredible built-in program that finds photos and saves them without taking hours away from your life. It was worth it. Thanks, picture keeper!

photo keeper
yes it seems very good , the only problem I found was that some of the photos when I played them back were horizontal why this is I don't know , because when I dragged them across to drop down box they were all vertical I don't think there is any way I can rotate them now they are on picture keeper !

Picture Keeper. Photo Backup Device
What a great little bit of technical kit this is! So easy to use - I have to access it via my Devices & drives program although some people may be lucky enough for it to start up automatically.I started with an 8GB stick, which soon filled up, so i bought the 16GB to complete my backup. I`ll finish the job later with #2 16GB stick, & hopefully still have plenty of room for more. I must have a lot of photos on my Hard drive!!!I like that I`m not backing up the same photos several times too, as it automatically sorts out the duplicates to save only one copy. Not having to keep asking the stick to "save to ..." for every file & photo is a godsend. I can get on & do other stuff while it does the job. That feature alone makes it worth the extra cost compared to amassing a vast collection of standard Memory Sticks.Yes, I am a very happy Bunny
