Honestly, this was the first time I’ve ever had or made a meal with yellow split peas! Last evening I made a lovely soup that turned out great! Basically, I kept it plain and simple cause I wanted to really taste the peas that were cooking (2 cups of peas in 6 cups of water) instead of using any other kind of a broth stock. Then I added one chopped up onion, two celery stocks sliced up, & two cloves of garlic that I had sautéed. It was then that I added some sea salt and seasoned pepper to taste. I previously sliced off a section of deli meat, & seasoned it with smoked paprika after I had cut it into little square chunks. Then I placed them into the soup as well after the peas became a smoother consistency, & about a half hour before serving. The peas still maintained their own particular flavor as the hit of the show, and complimented the other ingredients in the soup 😋. I also went one step further and served toasted cheese sandwiches along with our soup. Sam really liked the yellow split pea soup as he never had the yellow ones before either 🤗.

My husbands grandmother made yellow spilt pea soup. Which was passed on to me by my mother in law. Trying to find yellow spilt peas in grocery’s stores is extremely difficult! My mother in law had given “Yu Pick” peas a try and they took too long too cook. Then she went back to Goya and honestly I didn’t care for the taste anymore. After some searching I came across Clear Creeks Peas. They cooked great and tasted the best! Thank you for helping our family traditions caring on!

Had a small pebble in the bag that I didn’t notice until I chomped down on it while eating. Otherwise great peas.

I was so excited for these peas my local grocer stopped selling yellow split peas and ive been craving yellow split pea soup. Unfortunately after 2hrs of cooking these peas were still hard which means they are really old. I have to return them. Split peas only take about 40min of cook time. I had to add 3x the amount of water.
