Was worried until first play.
was worried because of the price./....however it is alot better than expected. I am a 260 pound man revisiting his DDR obsession. The pas is of great quality to sustain my heavy load. Bought a second pad. Great buy!

Comfortable but randomly activates
This is a tough call. It’s a super comfortable dance pad but the pad triggers act on their own sporadically and even had an instance when the pad failed to work when plugged in. Unplugging and plugging back in solved connectivity issues. However, replugging did not solve random note triggers I’m considering purchasing another to see if it was isolated to just one pad but still on the fence. So, I ordered a used one. I don’t know if it’ll be a good representation of pads performance but it was hard to pass up on taking a chance as it was so much cheaper than the new one. If this one doesn’t work out, I’ll update and consider taking on last chance on a new one.Options are so limited in the dance of market right now so I might be out of luck. Fingers crossed everything works out.Update: used one wasn’t even the same pad! It was a used pad with no cushion. Both items shipped and sold by amazon and it’s a Completely different model!Getting tired of amazon. Thinking I’m going to get a pad off of precision dance pads dot com.

It broke after 31 days of use.
This worked for me for a month. Then on the 31st day, the up arrow sensor moved 4 inches forward, so now the pad is basically unusable, and I'm 1 day beyond the Amazon return period. I enjoyed using it for a month, but obviously if it fails after 31 days, it's a total waste of money. Since it doesn't have a zipper like the Energy Pad, there's no way to get in there and repair it, either. I am very disappointed.

NOT METAL
Don't believe the reviews, this is definitely 100% NOT metal. Haven't used it yet, but will without a doubt return this is it isn't perfect besides not being metal.

DDR
Excellent mat, buttons are sensitive, borders of buttons can be felt with feet. Plug and play, no problem. Will still need to secure mat from moving as you play, but better that the cheap mats.

Use Project Outfox, not Stepmania
I couldn't get the pad to work with Stepmania 5 because of the axis problem (Google it if you don't know what that is.) Tried a bunch of things and still couldn't get it to work. Downloaded Project Outfox and it works fine. Seems like the pad will last a long time. I will come back and update this review if it does not. For around $200 this does seem overpriced, but there just aren't that many options for dance pads these days.

What I expected
I still think this mat is a little bit overpriced, but I haven't had any regrets yet. Very comfortable to play with. I could finally play in Heavy difficulty at home, since I used to play with cheap mats that curled or slipped. It slips a little bit on carpet when playing hard songs, but it's not really a problem at all. I also personally like the texture of the mat.
