Force Rax 2 Bike Spare Tire Car Rack

Tried to use this bike carrier on the spare tire of my pop up camper. It didn't fit snuggly enough to the camper's 14 inch tire mounted on the back, so I had to add some support. I was concerned that the carrier was putting too much pressure on the tire mount, so I am not going to use it. I am sure it will work just fine on a SUV tire mount. Rather than trying to return it, I will probably try to sell it on Craigslist or at a neighborhood garage sale.

It is not clear in the description or photos that the arms that hold the bikes are offset. This is great on a car with an offset spare tire like a Rav4 - the rack will center the bikes on the back of the car. On a Jeep it moves the bikes to the side so a full size bike even sticks out pass the side of the car. It's a well made rack, especially for the price. I would rate it 5* for use with an offset spare tire. I returned The Force Rax and bought another on Amazon that works great - not to name names it cost $144.

Force Rax 2 Bike Spare Tire Car Rack  This is an excellent Bike Rack. I general use it to hauls our 2 TREK bikes into town to ride. On multiple occasions I've forgotten to fasten the straps down. No worry! The receivers hold the bike perfectly in place. I was a little apprehensive about making this purchase after reading some of the reviews concerning the rack not staying attached, but DON'T WORRY, if you have half a brain, you'll be fine! This rack has never come free after I installed it. JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. My only disappointment with this rack was I had to remove my tire cover on my 2006 RAV4 Limited. This is a sturdy, stable workhorse of a bike rack.

Works good, feels solid. Would have liked to see the straps actually lock down in some way but other than that I would recommend

I received this bike rack 1 week ago from Amazon.com. I read the few reviews that were posted. I put the rack on my car last Saturday. I went to the bike store to pick up our two brand new bikes. The owner of the bike store checked the rack to make sure it was properly installed. One mile from the bike shop, the end caps on the tubular ends came off allowing the rubber braces that were holding the bikes to slip off. Result: $1000. worth of bikes wrecked. Thank God the person behind us was able to avoid the bikes bouncing down the highway! Despite best efforts of Amazon staff and google search, the distributer and manuafacturer were not able to be located. Now no bikes...no homeowners coverage covers this event...no car insurance covers this...and my Amazon.com Chase Visa (all puchases were on this card) will not cover it! The only thing I can say now is " thank God no one was killed or injured!"

For spare tire rack, this is the No1 choice.This rack works very well for my rav4 2009. That mean, any other suv can use it.The amazon price is lower than Walmart. Good Job!!!one downside is the bottom locker. This is Rav4 problem, not rack problem.On amazon, if you just type "Spare tire rack", you cannot find this item. Amazon need to change search methods!

This works just as expected. I drive a 2009 Toyota RAV4 Sport, so we bought this to fit over the spare tire. We can load both bikes on the back, and they stay secure. It's easy to get the bikes on and off, and the rack folds down out of the way when not in use. It was a great buy!

The arms are offset to one side so the weight of the bikes tend to pull the carrier off to that side.
