These pyrex straws, my second purchase from this company, are excellent and the thoughtfully-included ball-tipped brush makes for easy cleaning. I purchased this pair because I needed something for smoothies that is wider than their standard-width  Teenie Greenie Bent Glass Straws 9 in x 9.5 mm, 4 Pack, Shatter Resistant, Pyrex-Glass + 2 Cleaning Brushes -No BPA-, Non-Toxic, Reusable, Eco-Friendly, 4 Fun Colors  product that works so well.I've been using this company's straws for the past four months and have had no breakage. Because of the fragility of borosilicate mugs that I purchased elsewhere in the past I cringed when the edge of a narrower cousin of one of these straws inadvertently hit the rim of a glass, but neither edge sustained any damage.TIP: if you encounter difficulty swallowing liquids try drinking through a straw. I found that I can easily swallow, and all at once no less, a 16-ounce beverage of any consistency using a straw when drinking half the amount of that same liquid directly from the rim of a glass seems to hinder swallowing. That may be because fewer muscles are used when the effort is primarily at the back of the throat, but drinking in that manner certainly reduces the amount of air that may be swallowed.

Love these Teenie Greenie Wide straws! I actually own a 4 pack of their regular straws which I use all the time so I thought I'd pick up some wide ones when offered a promotional discount in exchange for a review. These are the same high quality that I've come to expect from Teenie Greenie and have all of the benefits of glass. They are non toxic, BPA free and easy to wash and clean. They come with their own cleaning straw which helps get the inside clean. They are shatter proof (and I've put them to the test when my son accidentally dropped them) similar to Pyrex. They won't collapse if used with warm food and are thick enough to easily drink smoothies and thicker pureed foods. The pretty Daisy is an added stylish bonus. I also love that they're environmentally friendly and reusable!These straws come in a pretty box- long like a necklace box for added protection when shipping and easy gift giving! I reuse the box for packing these straws in my diaper bag with a rubber band. My son doesn't use a bottle anymore and a nutritionist recommended getting him used to using a big cup by trying a straw. He has mastered drinking from a straw and it's nice to not have to bring a sippy cup everywhere.
