The writing space is 2.5" wide by 2" tall. The height of the stand from top to bottom is 6.5" tall. For writing, you can use a chalk pen to describe your food dish or write someone's name or a table number. Writing with chalk pens usually doesn't come off, however. You can paint over it for reuse if wanted. You can use regular chalk as well, but a chalk pen will give you better precision. Regular chalk does come off with a damp cloth. These are perfect for any wedding or party!
