Works perfect, on my friend's pc
When I insert any card or flash drive it everytime forces me to unplug usb cable and plug it back in order to be seen in W 7 and w 8,10. So I just gave it to my friend and he didnt have this problem, so probably it doesn't like my Intel motherboard I guess.

Great high speed reader
If you are looking for a convienient TRUE USB 3 reader (not just a USB 3 front port and a USB 2.0 reader for the cards as a lot of units are) this is a nice choice. Today's high speed SDXC and etc. type cards are capable of far faster than USB 2.0 has to offer.Fit and finish is good, and plugged right into the USB 3 header on my Gigabyte mainboard. The only thing that took me for a loop was that by the way windows works you get several drive letters (one for each physical slot). There is a free utility if you google for USB Drive Letter Control that will make sure only slots that really have a card in them will get a drive letter. Problem solved.Speeds amazed me, especially emptying out a 32GB SDXC card to my SSD drive. Works fine on Windows 7 and Windows 8. Also able to boot from any of the slots as a USB boot device from BIOS if you are so inclined, so you could make your own Windows Install SD card, etc. There is a single blue LED that comes on when there is at least a single card in the unit. It is not blinding or annoying, and stays steadily lit, activity makes it flash. The front panel USB3 port has come in handy and works just as well with USB2 devices such as flash drives. Doesn't seem like it will loosen up on me any time soon. Spend the extra on this one - I think you will be surprised.

Does not work with all motherboards
This card reader has a weird way of extending it's reach using a pair of usb m-f cables from device to a connector that (should) plug into your USB 3.0 connector on motherboard. Well guess what due to it's different way of extending it's reach the motherboard headercable connector has a nice bulge just above where it plugs in. With the ASUS P8Z77-V Premium and probably all the others of this type from ASUS this connector sits right next to the DIMM slots. Guess what fail design! Now this more costly reader is plugged into USB 2.0 that could of been puchased a lot cheaper! So beware if the USB 3.0 connector has anything just aft of the notched USB 3.0 header connector then you are probably wasting your time even thinking about this card in a USB 3.0 configuration.

Enter the 21st century
USB 3.0 is here, but why is it that the ports are always on the back of the computer? After buying a USB 3.0 stick, I decided I didn't want to reach around the back. I also was tired of the extra cable lying around my desk for my existing card reader, and the card reader was S-L-O-W at taking data off my 300x CompactFlash card.I searched around and read the reviews for this, and it was perfect for my needs: USB 3.0 port in the front, and a variety of card slots that would move to my computer panel and leverage the faster bus speed. Wow what a difference! My jump drive went from a max 68MB/s up on the rear slot to 75MB/s up. Down is 120MB/s -- this is the same speed as my SATA II SSD that I hook up to an eSATA port! What really counted was the VAST improvement in my Lexar CF card. The card went from a pokey 5MB/s off the card reader to a whopping 60MB/s on this unit. I didn't even know the card could go that fast. I take a lot of 14MP images and pulling these off the card is now FAST.Even nicer is that each data device you plug in gets recognized as a unique drive whereas some card readers only allocate you one active drive letter for only one device no matter how many are plugged in.I'm very satisfied. My desk is less cluttered and my data transfers faster.

Design Flaw
The problem is: a two port USB housing sits on top of the 20-pin adapter, and the USB housing is so wide and bulky that it will not fit into the USB 3 (sits beside my memory card slots) of MY mother board. If your mother board allows for more space this shouldn't be a problem for you, but I'm having to return mine.

Impressed.
This unit installed easily and without drivers. I had to purchase a separate USB3.0 PCI Express card with an internal 20-pin header (available from Orico) to get it working in my system without sacrificing my case's 2 front-panel USB ports. I knew this ahead of time so it wasn't a big deal and I was prepared. I was able to transfer photos off of some Compact Flash cards easily and at very high transfer rates within a few minutes of installation. It played several 720p movies off of a Lexar 16GB flash drive (NOT a USB3 device) over the USB port without any delay or stutter. The blue activity LED is a nice feature. I was also impressed by this device's ability to read microSD cards without an adapter. Easy 5 stars for me. We'll see how it performs over the long haul.

DOA
DOA. USB port connects but card reader does not. I switched cables around, no go. Also, power light does not show up.

Very nice addition to an old mother board
This was purchased with the Anker USB 3.0 Express Card in order to upgrade my old Asus mother board to USB 3 as well as being able to access the higher capacity SDXC cards that my camera uses. When installed there were some issues that I thought were driver related but after talking with tech support the problems pointed to the Anker card. After that was resolved I had no more electrical problems. The only other issue is that the card slot for the CF cards is tight. There are spring plates on each side that make it a little hard to insert the card unless it's perfectly aligned. Pushing too hard could cause some pin damage so I very carefully wiggle the card gently until I feel the card sliding freely. Other than that it's a nice product.
