Do It Yourself: 50 Projects by Designers and Artists

Great inspiration that is also a bit disappointing. There are a few projects that were a bit too similar, and one project that would require you to purchase a specially fabricated piece via one of the designers. The instructions are quite good, overall (at least one project directs you to the Internet for detailed dimensions ). Even with those flaws, I still feel the book is a worthwhile purchase for inspiration and instruction.

This book is loaded with DIY projects that look like high end modern art/decor, but they're all so doable. I'm excited to make the chair. The instructions are so clean and clear, and I can see myself doing several of the projects, not just one or two. We're fans of Phaidon books around here. There are several that grace our bookshelves. This is definitely a favorite.

Really wanted to love this book...in theory it looks promising but ended up disappointed. Idesas r repeating themselves, designs looks very not updated, some projects looks like someone just want to do the minimum...

My seven-year-old has more creativity and design sense than this euro-hipster collection of precious crafts. On the up side: it could be a tie-in to Portlandia if it showed any sense of humor.

I originally came across this in a trendy design shop or maybe it was the tate modern in London. After flicking through it I could see its not your normal bog standard projects and would be perfect for my designer sister in law for Christmas.

Bought for my sister who seemed very pleased. Can't judge on the content but the book itself was in great condition, prompt delivery etc.
