It must be the valerian, but these smell awful! If that bothers you, maybe try the gummies. So far, I've tried several types of the ZZZquil naturals and these are by far my favorite in the way they work. I sleep much better for longer with no morning grogginess. Even if I wake for the bathroom, I go right back to sleep instantly. These are life changing!

The first couple nights I still didn't sleep too well using this product, but the third night and ever since - wow! I have had very good luck with the Pure Zzz's products. I am sleeping for a solid 6-7 hours and falling asleep relatively quickly (maybe 40 minutes after taking one pill) with this product which shocks me. Not waking up groggy, either, because it's only 2mg of melatonin and botanical blend. I have been using the Pure Zzz's Triple Action gummies for a couple years now and that stuff is amazing at conking you out, but I was looking for something that would help me stay asleep that was natural. Low and behold I found this extended release melatonin and I have a very hard time staying asleep because of the prescription meds I take every day. I did not want to be prescribed another weird sleeping pill so I tried this and I swear it is something magical. The only negatives are that it has a bit of a funky smell (botanical blend), so I take the pill directly from the foil packaging and drop it into my mouth. My hands smelled funny when I took the entire pill out with my fingers even after washing. I have had no problems since dropping it into my mouth directly from the foil packaging. It is also pretty pricey which is a downfall but with the sleep I've been getting, I feel personally like it's worth it every couple months (which is how long the double pack lasts). I am very happy I don't have to take prescription medicine to sleep anymore. I am overall very pleased with this purchase and will be purchasing it as long as they sell it.

The "Smell" people are complaining about is from the Valerian Root. If you are used to taking herbal supplements or remedies, the smell won't bother you. But if you aren't used to that type of thing I wouldn't recommend these. The smell is really not bad and doesn't smell like "poop" or "rotten" it literally smells like herbs. I've been using these for like a year and they work Soo well. They help me fall asleep quick and stay asleep. I actually wakeup feeling rested.

Works extremely well but OMG the AWFUL SMELL AND TASTE!! From the first second, the taste is foul, but they do work well without that weird melatonin dizziness. I sure how the the manufacturer's read the reviews and consider reformulating it. Please put it in a capsule so we don’t have to taste it! I greatly prefer it to the super sugary gummies that, for me, don’t last as long or work as well.

I've been using these for 2 months and it's the only type of melatonin that work for my type of insomnia. I can fall asleep sitting up straight but I cannot STAY asleep. I went from making up 5-6 times a night to waking up 0-1 times. They smell awful, so bad I have to wash my hands after taking one and I ALWAYS take it right before I brush my teeth. But other than the smell, it's perfection.

Read about melatonin on Google, OTC at say Walgreens is initially too strong, so yes, easy to get to sleep. But hiurs later it counter attacks and you wake up going…. Duh? Time release gives you enough to sleep, then a little more hours later to continue your sleep. I have gone thru about 24 tablets and firmly believe they help.
