Our screen door had big tears over the years from dog wanting to go in or out. Was going to buy a door from the usual big box hardware stores, but they looked so much more flimsy and cheap than the current door. There were nicer doors at the store, but they were custom order and a couple hundred dollars. So DIY it was. It might help to have a helper, but did a pretty reasonable install on my own. It is not as straight as the original, but I guess good enough. Used blue painters tape to tack down screen in the right position. Also ended up getting new wheels for the old door. The heavy duty screen material is a little thicker than original and much better than the cheap doors. The amount of screen material provided was fine.

So many other replacement screens here on Amazon come folded, and so many reviewers complaining that the folds do not fully smooth out upon installation. As the title states, this kit comes rolled - no folds at all to contend with.The screen as well as the supplied spline installed with ease, though I used my own wood-handled, metal-wheeled spline tool that I already had instead of the supplied all-plastic tool.Screen material appears SLIGHTLY thicker but not by alot, so there were no issues rolling in the spline. I recommend this good quality kit.

I used this product to replace the screen on an exterior door as well as two screens that i had to completely replace with those frame kits.The kit comes with an installation tool, as well as replacement spline. I would recommend the screen tool with the conserve roller on one end and a rectangle point on the other. The rectangle end is better at getting a good seal on the ends of the spline run.I just finished the install and the quality seems equal to what i replaced. If there are any issues over time I will update my review.

I would have liked to give this purchase a 5-star rating, but I was disappointed with the thickness (or the lack of it) of the spline. The original spline of my screen door seemed to be much thicker than the spline that came with this kit. Because of that, I was unable to draw the screen tight. Every time I tried to pull the screen tight and cinch the spline from one side to the other, the spline would loosen. So as it is now, it's a bit slack. Overall, an excellent kit. The only negative is the size/slenderness of the spline.EDIT: JULY 2022As reported in my original review, the .140 spline is too small for the frame channel of my screen door. It wouldn't hold the mesh edges, so that resulted in a slack mesh. Every day, it became worse. Recently, my cousin's one-and-a-half-year-old nearly walked through the mesh, pulling the lower part of the screen out of its frame channel. So I replaced the .140 with the .185. Now, the screen is taut. The door looks good. Everything is fine. My suggestion to the seller is that the choice of kit should include the .185 spline. For instance, you can offer one kit that has the .140 spline and another kit that has the .185 spline. This allows prospective buyers to choose the correct kit for their door. In my case, I bought the kit (it came with the .140 spline), learned that the spline is too small, and ended up having to make a separate purchase for a larger spline. Overall, the kit is quality. However, the seller needs to offer a kit with the larger spline.

Just what I needed perfect fit

Used it to replace the screen in an Andersen hinged patio door. Half the price of the Andersen kit, and worked great.

I needed to replace the screen on our sliding screen door, so I had purchased a screen from Home Depot. Very soon after installing it, I noticed that the quality of the new screen was very poor and there were some areas that were starting to fray (we have two little kids who often push on the screen to open and close it). So I purchased this screen instead and it is a great product! The spline tool was very useful and the screen is very good quality - makes the sliding door look brand new.
