Power cable fit.
The PiStar is working great. Had a small problem at first. I was not able to insert the power cable in the micro-USB port. I had to disassemble the unit and install a non-conductive shim under the PiZero. This also helped with the SD Card insertion. Be careful getting the lid off, it is very difficult to remove.

Good hotspot. Reach out to company through Amazon if you need assistance.
Worked for a couple of months, then stopped working. Was outside of the Amazon window for returns, but the included paperwork and the listing for this stayed there was a one year warranty. I tried reaching out to the company via the provided email over the last few weeks with no luck. Once I reached out through Amazon, I heard back from them within an hour and found I needed to adjust the offset. Once I did that, I had a working hotspot again!

I do not recommend.
I spent hours trying to get this product to work. Sometimes it would boot up other times it would not. Several time ls it would sit with “initialize” on the display for 30 min or more. There is really no support. Instruction are Spartan and I got most of my information from YouTube and websites.Looking over the reviews and comments, my experience is not uncommon. I only gave it one star because it got here in one day thanks to AmazonUpdate: Photos of router trafffics before and after formatting memory card with pi-star software from pi-star. Questionable data transfer. I asked for explanation and did not get one.Hardware appears to work now. Software is dubious from vendor. .

hardware works, but outdated and challanging
I tried to set this up right out of the box but ran into issues with Wifi setup as other have as well, unfortunately the Pi Zero is not supported very well anymore with better options out there, i took the hat off and connected it to a Pi3B I had laying around and also changed from Pi-star to WPSD which is lightyears better in everyway, once I did that it was up in minutes and running perfectly. My recommendation if you have a spare Pi laying around or want to make life easy buy a pi3/4/5 and take the hat off and attach it to a full size pi then flash with WPSD. The hat works as it should.

Good Hotspot and a Bargain!
This is a hotspot with a Pi Zero and it has the MMDVM interface (Pi-Star). The programming instructions were one page, clear, precise and easy to follow. I had it up and operating within 20 minutes. I did go down a rabbit hole with the mini HDMI port that was included. Apparently the Pi-Star won't output to the HDMI, so you wind up with a HDMI port that isn't very helpful. While you could potentially install a web interface, if you knew Linux, I didn't bother. I just used the web-based interface. I'm sure the HDMI was built in on the Pi Zero that Aursinc worked from, and wasn't added to the device for functionality. Very pleased with this smaller-than-expected but fully functional hotspot. I use mine for DMR, but it comes programmable for YSF, D-Star, P-25, and others.

Great plug and play solution for beginning DMR
The provided instructions worked well, but with some networking knowledge this is pretty much a no-brainer. I love that this runs pi-star out of the box, but this is definitely flashable if you'd like to use something else. I've been using it for about 6 months now and I love it!

Works Great!
I bought this for home use and it works great. Very simple setup. Just find a YouTube that demonstrates the setup and you should be up and running very quickly. One caveat, though. I thought this would work well when tethered with the hotspot on my phone for use in my car. That did not turn out to be the case for me. Could have been something I was doing wrong, so you might want to research that, if you intend on using it that way.Other than that I’m very happy with this hotspot.
