Design needs improvement
One the one and only occasion to attempt usage, we were in the Yosemite National park, Got out of the vehicle after it began to snow; attempted to used the "tool" (resembles a repurposed hager) to attempt to attach the Velcro straps across the tires. This proved quite tedious and dfifficult. We gave up. Good thing that we were able to return the next day when the snow was melting.Buy this only if you have the patience and time to get using something so tedious. Plan ahead and practice often.

They did work great while they were on my tires
Bought these for the snow and tried them out after getting over a foot in ~24 hrs. Takes about 20 minutes to place but it's velcro. Why couldn't they make it nylon straps with buckles. By the time I got to work, 9 of the 10 gripz I placed had fallen off. Mind you, I used the extra plastic zip ties the company sent me on all 10. Yes, after you buy their product, they will mail you a box of plastic (non-reusable) zip ties and new instructions. I never went faster than 30 mph. They did work great while they were on my tires. Otherwise, avoid and do not buy. Get tire socks or chains instead

Easy to use, easy to break as well.
I can't give them one star because they are extremely easy to install and they worked for most of the day until that fateful stop on an incline. They do not stand up very well if you have a thin layer of snow and you hit the pavement with the plastic grips. You will inevitably have to buy more straps and plastic grips to keep using these things. I would recommend spending a little more once than having to keep replacing these when they wear down or straight up break. They broke at the end of the day the first time I used them, I was on an incline and they could not stand up to the torque of the car. Only use these on smaller vehicles like sedans and smaller.

Great alternative for travelers
Thankfully I didn't have to use this, so I cannot say how well it works. That said, It looks to be a great product to take on a trip as a emergency device to be used on a rental car. On a recent wintery trip to Denver, upgrading from a full size car to an SUV would've cost me an additional $800! Instead I stuck with my car and bought this as a way to reduce my risk. Rental car companies state you cannot use chains on their cars, so this is a great alternative. It fits multiple size tires, which is great since you cannot be assured what car you will be given and thus what size tires you will end up with. This packed easily and didn't add a lot of weight or bulk to my suitcase - all important things when flying and having to pay airline baggage fees.I will update this review if I ever have to use it.
