My 3 1/2-year-old grandson enjoyed building with my guidance and is very proud of everything he made. This is a good entry level stem kit project

This product is amazing. My 6 and 4 year old loved putting it together. They were so excited that it really worked. I would definitely recommend it. They didn't want to paint it, but always can if they decide to later. Loved this item!

Love the concept but the materials were not great. This is a good project for building frustration tolerance for yourself and your kid! My 13 yr old and I struggled with it because of the lousy nails, but the instructions were clear and the wood pieces were all easy to identify. The finished product is a lot of fun. I am upgrading my rating from three stars to four stars because the company proactively reached out to me to offer a full refund, which I accepted.

Fun to build

The top layer with the screw lid was warped, so when we hammered one side, the other side would lift slightly. We finally left it slightly loose rather than continuing hammering until the nails wouldn't be firm anymore. When you open the kit, make sure every piece of wood is level. Perhaps the piece we received got wet before being mailed.

Giving it as a gift, looks great

It's best to paint the pieces before you put it together, my grandson was so excited when he got it.
