The book has good choice of words. Some definition of the words might need a boarder definition. But the choice of words is adequate,not too esoteric not too common. Just right words an educated Person needs to know.

Like the book But I was expecting to have more information rather than just words and sentences. Looking for synonyms and more info.

An outstanding book to expand your vocabulary and enhance your writing and use of the English language. Such a great find! If you are a writer or public speaker it is a must have.

I collect books in this genre in the off-chance somebody will come up with something worthwhile I find to be new or challenging.This book is the best of its kind I've found.Some vocabulary books begin with the assumption that you are 13 years-old and you may have some gaps in your vocabulary.Some claim 3,000 words and add in myrmidon, terpsichorean, sciamachy, and susirrus none of which you'll ever hear or have occasion to use.This book includes over 1,100 worthwhile words every adult should know and put to good use.

Fun little book for those of us that are logophiles or who are merely aspiring word lovers. Great book to broaden your vocabulary or refresh your decaying one. NOT like a SAT/GRE study guide, but would recommend to a high school / college student to increase vocabulary depth.

Great book very interesting

I like the format of the book. Every word has an example sentence for clarity. However, a lot of the words are those one would never use, but there are plenty one could incorporate into their daily vocabulary in their effort to rise above being mistaken for Peter Griffin. Going through it when you would otherwise be idle, such as at an airport waiting gate, is the preferred setting, I think.

Brought as a present for my secret Santa.I went through the book and read a few pages and was laughing at some of it.There are words you definitely can throw into a conversation to make you seem that little bit brighter.

Don't be put off by the title! It's actually a great little book for any young person wanting to extend their vocabulary.

Good selection of words - poor examples of their use in language/ literature.. dont recommend this for that reason - overpriced .
