Well made. Easy to pack up back into carrying case, easy to use time racks. We had tried another brand sold at Barnes and Noble for about the same price, and one of its wooden racks broke during first use.We returned it, and got this one to replace. Our local mah Jongg teacher has several of these that she uses in her classes.

I am a avid Mah Jongg player, and over the years have played with many different sets owned by others. I had an older set that someone gifted to me, which I lost in a house fire a few years ago. I finally decided to just go ahead and buy a set for myself, and chose this one because it was reasonably priced and seemed like a nice set…and it is! I’m really happy with the quality of the tiles and the racks, and the carrying case is nice an sturdy. I’m glad I chose this set, and would recommended it to others.

Tiles are a nice weight, racks are standard. Case is nice for storage but not really practical if you play a lot at home.

I love to play Mahjong and was anxious to have my own set. Don’t get me wrong, the set is beautiful. I ordered it in a suitcase to preserve the set, but what I didn’t think about was how heavy it would be. If you’re Walking a short distance, it’s no big deal but if it’s not, You start to feel like your arms are going to fall off. I wish this had been offered in a case on wheels with a telescopic handle That I’m now seeing. Unfortunately, the Empty cases are too expensive.

I play mahjong 4-5 times a month and this set is solid and can take a lot of abuse---tiles falling on the floor without cracking, etc. The case has even fallen twice without denting it. The thin lids overs the boxes of tiles could be a little beefier though. The corned on those are dented. The set gets put away by different people at the center where we play, so it's hard to say how careless or careful others have been with those lids.

This set is quite complete, the tiles are beautiful with markings well-painted in clean engravings on each tile, and the included "Mah Jongg Primer" booklet has been very helpful to beginners like ourselves. It came well-packaged, everything wrapped and protected. The aluminum case is quite sturdy and plenty big enough to hold everything without requiring meticulous repacking of the tiles.The interior foam divider in the case will be handy to separate the somewhat more delicate pusher racks (probably true of all pusher racks) from the heavy tiles. The pusher racks do NOT include the hinged posts that can be used to accumulate scoring chips (which are included), but I knew that going in, so that's an observation, not a complaint.
