Amazing! Amazing effects processor
AMAZING! Blown away! I have a few more costly units from Line 6 and have been looking for a lower cost to keep in my practice room. Then I saw the Anderton's review of the GP-100 for $150. I can't believe all you get in this unit for $150. The sounds are amazing, with excellent presets right from Valeton. The build quality is ROCK SOLID! Heavy duty all metal construction. Display screen is super bright and you can easily see what patch you are on from a standing position. Nice small unit can easily also be used as a desktop processor. Valeton has raised the bar in my opinion. Competion beware! I'm now a superfan of Valeton. Highly recommended!!

A real gem at this price point
I have used this pedal playing bass in a live setting twice now since I got it and I’m really pleased at how great it is for the price. I used to play on a top notch high-end pedal board and I wanted to get back some of that tone magic. I was mainly looking for compression and cabinet simulation for always on and then being able to add overdrive, chorus and octave effects. This was the cheapest means of getting all that when I bought it on sale for $120. This pedal kills it with the compression and amp sim settings. My bass (a hand-carved Elrick gold e-volution 4) already sounded good but it now sounds and sits so perfectly in the mix. The overdrive sounds very good and my drummer was really loving the tone. I need to mess with it some more but so far the octave tone is not great. Compared to pedals I’ve previously used like the EBS Octabass and Boss OC series it is too boomy and just doesn’t sound as good tonally but I want to play around more with the settings and see if I can dial in something better. I haven’t delved into the chorus yet. Great buy.

Great for the money
PROS:- Solid build quality. The entire device is, in fact, metal, aside from the knobs. The footswitches and expression pedal are metal.- Sound is excellent for the money. It probably won't cut it in a professional studio, but for someone practicing and recording at home it sounds great.- Large list of varying effects with editable parameters. There's loads of different variations on standard effects tools (distortions/ODs/Fuzzes, reverb models, delays...) and you can assign multiple FX to each footswitch as an on/off toggle. Or use the footswitches as preset forward/back.- No noticeable sound I/O latency.CONS- Bass amp/fx models are pretty limited. They work great, and I really don't do a lot of FX on bass anyway so it's not a big deal for me, but your mileage may vary.- Default settings for expression pedal basically make it a volume control on most presets. It only took a few minutes to figure out, but you have to actually assign the thing to a parameter or four. You can also limit the volume range it controls when not acting as an expression pedal, as it can be a little annoying if you accidentally bump it and your volume gets dropped.- Patch building is a tiny bit limited. Basically, there's a slot for each type of effect and you can only use one of each, as far as I can tell. So, if you wanted to mix a fuzz with a more biting distortion you're out of luck as they're grouped together. Ditto say an Octaver and a Wah.This is in no way a deal-breaker for me, and I'm happy with the amount of control you do have on such a budget-friendly device, but it's something to consider.- No way that I can see to scroll presets without activating each one on the way through. It'd be nice to have a scrollable list mode to get where I want faster, but that's a very minor nitpick.

Massive Sound Great Price
WOW .... So I have been playing since the late 70's. I have a GP100, and it was great for banging around, but from a recording standpoint it was a little boxy on the heavier tones.I tried a POD GO and sent it back. My GP 100 sounded better than the Pod Go. The line 6 interface is not as user friendly as the Valeton software. So I ordered the GP200Easy to dial in, great TONES. Software interface is great, you pick and amp and it has the knobs like you would in the real world. The pod go has sliders which are not intuitive as there are extra sliders I have never see, and I have several amps.Biggest bang for the buck, best buy in my humble opinion. Thing just kicks ass

Great value, very versatile!
So impressive! Spent the last 2 hours with it, and using the PC based interface program works really well. Sound quality is great, much better than I expected. Recording into Ableton works great after installing ASIO drivers (from the Valeton website). The expression pedal works well, much more customizable than expected. Wah and pitch shift work quite well in my opinion. Was able to create a decent "whammy" effect after playing with the settings through the PC appSeems durable. A small piece of paint came off the pedal early on, but that is minor in my view. The metal case is a plus.Would prefer a full "click" at the top of the expression pedal range...the manual says press until the is a click, but mine is silent with no tactile feedback. It works, just took some practice. Not sure if the is normal or not.Overall, 5 out of 5. Great product.

Great Pedal for the Learning Player
This does everything I wanted in a pedal and more. When I first started playing in 2001, getting a looper, tuner, drum machine, and a few effects pedals would've cost a thousand dollars or more. Now all these things are available to the casual players at affordable prices. I love the USB features. I rarely ever touch the pedal itself, as the software controls everything I need. If you're looking for a cheap pedal with lots of features that's easy to use, I suggest this pedal. There are others that do the same for the same price but none that can match the amazing user interface that comes with this pedal.
