I'm a child of the 60s and 70s
I need this music to turn around my attitude about this stupid, crazy world. Going back to this era gives me instant stress relief. Try it, you'll like it, lol.

Anyone who grew up in the 50s, 60s and 70s and loved the rock music of the time will love this CD.
I was born and raised during the Golden Age of Rock and Roll. Rock and roll was first aired when I was age three, so I was steeped in the Golden Oldies. My favorite time of rock music was from 1964 through 1972. These were the best years in my opinion and whoever loved the music from that period will love this CD.

Old hits from an era almost completely unlike our own.
Fun old happy songs from a time when hippies were just getting started and were full of confidence and enthusiasm. This was all from the time just before music started getting dark. It all still had a happy ring to it. I bought this CD for the Archies song "Sugar, Sugar." It was also nice to get "Time of the Season." If you handle the attitude these folks made their music with, it's a good cd. To most people though, it's going to really feel dated.

1969
This is hardly definitive of the year it purports to represent. One wonders why the suits bother to put out an album with such little care. Why so few tracks when there is enough room on a disc for twice the number of tracks listed here? That said, there are some iconic moments, as with the Aquarius number and Time of the Season, but they are all trailing in the wake of the stand-out track Crimson and Clover which, if you've heard Sweet Jane by the Velvet Underground, makes you wonder who inspired whom, including later songs such as Spanish Stroll (Mink De Ville), Werewolves of London (Warren Zevon), Just Like a Woman (Bob Dylan) and the rest.
