Stand Tall!: A book about integrity (Being the Best Me!®)

Easy to read and very carefully worded to teach social and emotional skills. Great tool for parents and teachers. Wish they would teach theses values and social emotional skills to kids in school. The whole series is wonderful. Highly recommend.

I have found it helpful in my counseling with children. I like how the main character is a minority. And other races are present in the story.

Excellent book for all children to read. Well written and great pictures.

SUMMARY: This book is told in first person by a girl who loves to stand tall in many ways. She is proud of her heritage, learns from others, sets goals and works to achieve them, does what is right, makes good choices, helps others, is dependable and a good friend. In the back of the book are comprehension questions and many activities in order to use this book further to learn about the subject of integrity.ILLUSTRATIONS: The illustrations appear to be digitally created. They are colorful and full of expression and life. There are a variety of children represented including different races as well as a boy in a wheelchair.REVIEW: I enjoyed this book very much. It covered the subject of integrity from many different angles. As the girl spoke, you could feel her pride in her integrity leap off the page. The language is simple for even the youngest learners. This book may be called Stand Tall, but it is filled with inspiring words that cover many different subjects. Courage, setting goals and planning, leadership, and so much more. There is an extensive parent/teacher guide with many activities and discussions. The illustrations are simple, colorful, and beautifully done.
