MCC is the company that created the original version of the ratcheting pipe cutter. This tool is made in Japan and you can tell that the quality is there when you use them. They are so much better than the cheap versions I have used in the past. Cuts through PVC easily with one hand and cuts straight and clean. Worth the cost compared to the cheap ones.

THESE ARE FOR "FOAM CORE PVC" AND SMALL (1/2 INCH- 1 INCH) SOLID CORE PVC PIPES.Having the deburring hole on the blade is great too. These will last a LONG time. Its worth it.

They heavy duty

I do not like the tool because it is flimsy and is already bent after using it only 3 times. I would purchase a different tool if I could do it all over.

I’m a sprinkler fitter and I’ve been using these every day since I’ve recieved them for cpvc. They’ve been working great up until today. The cutter wouldn’t snap open all the way like it did at first. Then It wouldn’t rachet. Finally they started working again but not like they were. Might just be because they have a little wear on them. I easily make more than a hundred cuts with them a day. I would recommend them over cheaper ones though.On my third pair of these in little less than a year and a half ( 1st pair stolen off me..2nd pair broke..3rd pair broke) compared to the ones my company use to buy ( I convinced my company to purchase these) they work nicely the pair I have now I’ve only had for about 5 months and they’re not working anymore for the price can’t say I’m to thrilled and don’t know why I talked the company into buying them for the rest of the employees so I’m definitely knocking stars off

First off, this is a beautifully-made as well as beautifully-designed tool. It has that wonderful feel of a strong, but precisely made tool that lets you know, just from the feel of it, that it's going to be a great, useful and durable addition to your toolbox. The aluminum handles are perfectly and cleanly cast, and the opening and closing action is silky smooth. When the cut's done, simply opening the handles fully, releases and opens the blade to be ready for the next cut. I've only had the opportunity to use them on half- and 5/8-inch black PVC and white, one-inch plastic pipe so far, but they make consistently clean cuts with little to no deformation do the pipe. Highly recommended.
