Comfortable, protective & GORGEOUS
Purchased my first pair of Keens three years ago when I found a size 7 on a clearance sale in the men’s department that just fit my foot ! After three years of hard use the heals had worn down but we’re so comfortable I couldn’t imagine buying any other brand! This time I had a choice to buy a women’s shoe but wasn’t sure which size to order so I used the web site instructions and measured my foot length @ 10” & ordered women’s size 9 1/2 Targhee II low profile in “English Lavender”. My new Keens are GORGEOUS & fit Better than my first Keens because they are roomy enough to wear my heaviest socks and feel heavenly to walk in! They work especially well on long walks through the woods and rough rocky terrain because they are extremely sturdy, well made, protective, supportive, and so comfortable I want to wear them all the time🙏

Comparable to the Keen Voyageur....
I've had great comfort with the Voyageur and bought the Targhee 2 to replace an old Voyageur pair which has worn out completely after years of use. These two shoes seem to share the same shoe fast and are built on the same platform. There is plenty of toe box room for me, the back is a bit elevated to help with high arches and the fit is smooth and comfortable all around. They seem to be basically the same shoe.I wear a size 9 in most Keen shoes and boots but when it comes to the Voyageur and the Targhee 2, I need to go up 1/2 size for the perfect fit. For me they run a little too short. I also use a Birkenstock Blue insole for very high arches which completes the overall fit. In the summertime, I wear thin silk socks which makes them just a hair too big (but my feet swell more in the summer making the fit perfect) and for the other months of the year I wear normal thicker socks which work perfectly without being too tight. The Multi color, which is a very deep dark brown and the aqua contrast is really striking and they are a fabulously good looking pair of walking/hiking shoes which get lots of compliments. I really love them.Just a reminder too, is that when your old Keens start to get holes in the bottom from so much use, just keep them and use them as water/river shoes. They are still sturdy enough for this use and to keep your feet supported and covered in the rocky streams and rivers.

Mostly good, with one ugly
These boots fit as if they are made for my feet. Pure comfort and perfect shape. Although the newer made ones are slightly narrower than a few years ago. Still, they fit really well and feel great. The new inserts they use, the yellow ones are not so great though. Not as comfortable like the old ones were. The tread is chunky, great grip, the fit is awesome, the look is excellent. I have bought several pairs over the years. I have ONE complaint and it's a BIG one ... Every single pair of these boots I have owned, after a year or so, the tread literally falls off. The glue they use for the tread needs serious improvement. The only reason I ever have to every buy a new pair is because of the tread falling off ! Regardless of this .. because everything else about the boot is A+, I would still highly recommend them.

These Keens are Keen!
One of my favorite style of Keens. Have bought them numerous times in other colors. Nice, comfy, roomy fit that makes walking a breeze. Very sturdy!

Comfortable and good traction
Very comfortable shoe and amazing traction that probably saved me on a really difficult trail. Agree with other reviews that it's not a very breathable shoe so it might get hot. Wear cotton and light weight socks. The laces didn't stay tight all day so I might get some elastic laces to help. Overall awesome shoe, looks great even when you're not hiking, and made me feel very safe on some steep and slippery trails!

Looks great but odd fit, might lose a toenail
I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel and sized up to an 8 from 7.5. The toe area is very roomy for my duck shaped feet, but the toe is still hitting a very uncomfortable stiff spot at the top even though there's plenty of width and length. Replacing the insole doesn't help as there's not enough height in the shoe. I've never worn 8.5 in my life, and my heel would definitely slip. I haven't even walked yet and after losing a toenail from my last hike, I can't risk it. The looks and craftsmanship are top notch, but the comfort isn't there.

My 13th or 14th pair of Keens in 10 years.
These shoes are excellent for: hiking, trail walking, every day errands, work, leisure, dashing to the car in the rain, snow, and mud. I really like the large toe box. The shoes are comfortable and not too wide. They tend to run a half size small in my experience. I have three pair of Keen sandals, as well as, the variety of Targhees that I've owned. I tend to buy a new pair about every 18 months and then demote the current pair to yard work and "poo-patrol" when picking up after my Yorkies. I love the fact that these are water repelant to water proof. Be sure to read the specs as Keen offers shoes in both models. My preference is the low cut shoe over the ankle height. Just feels better for me. I have experienced ZERO break-in time for this brand of shoe. The color selections are muted and very similar to each other. Get over it...I have yet to see Keen offer a bright blue or red Targhee. (Although that'd be cool. I'm totally all about blue.) The soles of the shoes take a long time to wear as they are made of Vibram. Great stuff. The foot bed is removeable and there is plenty of room for orthodics if you wear them. I have worn out the foot beds and just replaced them with after market variety. The laces are really long so you may either have to cut them down or double-bow tie them. Just something I've noticed over the years. Unless your mom is a totally hip kind of woman, she may not like the look of these shoes, as the toe bumper is quite prominent. My mom thinks these are hideous. Well, if she'd only try a pair and not look at her feet, I think she'd be hooked on the great comfort, weather resilientancy, and did I mention comfort? Give Keens a try. I hope you like them. I sure do.
