Flimsy hard to thread

I have begun to teach my 8 year old daughter how to sew using my (Babylock Decorator's Choice) machine and wanted inexpensive thread for her to be able to let loose and not have to worry about dad being displeased with her using up all his (my) expensive thread! The price made me a little nervous (thoughts of getting what one pays for), so to get started I bought just 2 colours (weird side-note: Amazon tried to charge me $2.50 shipping on 2 whereas shipping on 1 was $1, so I split the order - just watch the shipping charge). We have only done 1 craft so far, but so far no trouble whatsoever. I don't know that I would trust it for seams on a garment, but for a child's learning project or for decorative stitching, I think it fits the bill at a very affordable price. As soon as we can decide on what colours, I will order another $20 worth (shipping appears to stop at a fixed $5) & if I don't post a comment on this review, you may assume it works as well as the first :)One other thought: I had an easier time using 2 bobbins than using 1 bobbin + this spool. Might just be me, though. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else felt the same way (or didn't) so please post a comment!//UPDATE: Changed rating from 4 stars to 5 stars, so far the thread has been great!

I bought this thread to sew a quilt while I was mostly at home due to the Pandemic. The fabric was cut and all I needed was thread. I needed white and I didn’t have any, so ordered three spools of this from Thread Art. What a huge disappointment. There doesn’t seem to be any way to get the thread started coming off spool. On two of the spools, there was a little piece of thread sticking out near the center, I tried pulling that, and tried using a pin to release it - All it did was create a huge tangle, what a mess! Obviously the thread will need to come off of a top layer but I don’t find a lead thread. I tried cutting a thread and pulling to see if that would get things going. Again, what a mess. I am so disappointed, unable to sew and no stores any where locally that would have thread. I’ll need to order online again, but not from this company.

First off, this company is ridiculously fast and their product is pretty great quality. I ordered my thread on the 19th and received it today! I ordered a bunch of different colours and all were correct and were even more vibrant than I expected from "cheap" thread. I whipped out my machine and sewed a bag with my new purple, it was fantastic! I hate when thread frays in my machine's needle or breaks while I'm sewing a long stretch. This thread didn't do that at all. I'm VERY pleased with it, and the company itself (so fast!). They are selling a high quality item for a very nifty price. Especially with how much thread is on each roll- I didn't realize when I ordered it there was 600M, I thought there was about 200 like my normal rolls. When I opened my package and saw the fatty rolls of thread, I got really excited.So if you're looking for quality thread in vibrant colours, for a great price- these are what you're after. I'll definitely be buying more.

This review is only for the white but I have bought many of these in a great number of colors. The more you order at one time, the better the shipping so it just makes sense to stock up.I sew a lot of denim quilts from old jeans and though this thread is a bit thinner than the more expensive kind, it has still held very well even though I sew through many layers of denim at a time because when making the quilts, I leave on pockets and belt loops, even leather tags, and sew right through them. I have probably made at least 5 queen sized quilts using this thread but have only had the thread break on me a couple of times, and I am pretty sure it wasn't because of the thread.With so many great colors and the price, this thread is worth stocking up on and I recommend it.

LOVE this thread. It's great that the spool is so big, color is great, and sews smoothly in my machine. My only complaint is finding the thread when you first start. You have to look very carefully at the spool. Starting thread is in the middle poking out, but you have to gently pull that thread out from another thread that it is tucked behind.
