Epar Stainless Steel Salt and Pepper Grinder Set

These look nice and I love the small space they require. They also do seem well made, but that's about the best I can say because they don't work very well and I wish I could return them. They are not easy to use one handed. I don't think I have small hands by any means and every friend who has tried them, as well as my husband, also has trouble. It takes too much pressure to press the plunger down with your thumb and we wind up holding it with one hand and pushing the plunger with the palm of our other hand. It's a good 1 3/4" from the top of the plunger to the top of the barrel. In addition to that, you don't get very good output and there is no adjustment for the grind. The little tray it came with is nice, but it does fill with spilled S & P since the opening is on the bottom. Also, because these are so small, you wind up filling them ALL the time! They only hold about a tablespoon of S or P. Overall, I regret this purchase and wish I had sent them back while I still could instead of "giving them a fair trial". These will be relegated to the camper so we don't have to use them more than a few times per year. I have already ordered replacements.

I like these grinders, but they're just not built well enough to hold up to everyday use. The first pair I got had a problem with the threads on one of the buttons on top of the shaft stripping, so the button wouldn't stay mounted properly. I asked for a replacement and the company was good to send me a new pair (apparently they only come in pairs.This new pair had a slightly different design in the way the base screws into the plastic part of the grinder. I've been using it for a couple months now, and the plastic is cracking between the threads that screw into the base and the visible part of the plastic. Since I had a working grinder from my 1st order, I'll switch to it and I should have 2 working grinders, at least for a while.Filling these grinders is a pain in that the opening is small. They are easy to use once you get them filled, and I would like them despite the difficulty in filling them, if only they would last longer.

I was surprised at how small the pepper grinder was but I decided to give it a try anyway. I have trouble using the "thumb only" method but that is because I have some arthritis in my thumb. It gives a nice coarseness to the pepper, which my husband really likes. The grinder appears to be sturdy and is standing up to daily use unlike most of the other battery operated grinders I have tried.On the whole, it is a great little grinder! I would recommend it to anyone wanting a battery operated grinder.

Loved these at first: unique design, compact footprint, excellent grinding. But in less than two months the salt grinder has completely rusted, resulting in rust being ground into food before clogging altogether. While the casing may be stainless steel, the internal components clearly are not!!! Granted I live in a humid area less than two miles from the Pacific Ocean at an elevation. Anyone who lives near a body of salt water and/or in a humid environment be warned: these items are susceptible to rust. Quickly.

Pepper works fine but the Himalayan pink salt rocks are very difficult to crush with one hand. Not willing to give up that easily... A few minutes of elbow grease and a pestle to crush the rocks down a little did the trick. These things looks too slick for that.

I could not depress the spring mechanism with one finger. That is supposedly the point of this design. I put salt in the other grinder and it leaked out of the bottom. The set is so small that it does not hold much salt or pepper.

Very solid with good weight. Does a good job griding the pepper. Sometimes with the salt you do have to hit it pretty good to get it started and then make sure to not let the button back the whole way while using it.

I like the ease of using these grinders. I didn't realize how little they actually hold though and they have to be refilled more often than others, but it is not that big of an inconvenience. Overall, I am really happy with my purchase.

Doesn't dispense very much pepper without a lot of effort
