It does exactly what it says it does. Sort of. Close enough, I guess. At $99 it's not a bargain, but does mostly work.
It does exactly what it says it does. Sort of. Close enough, I guess. Hardware setup was pretty easy. Just open the case, plug in a hard disk and fire it up.It was harder to get it to recognize my Hikvision cameras, but in the end they worked, although it didn't auto-detect them, so I needed to know their addresses. The user interface is primitive and poorly documented and doesn't work with a keyboard, so no matter what you need to type, you have to do it by pointing to the letters with an on-screen keyboard, using the mouse, even if you have a keyboard plugged in.I was unable to find documentation for all the icons on the camera displays, but it seems to be working anyway. However the big kicker is the web interface. If you're not running Internet Explorer on Windows, with ActiveX controls, you have pretty much nothing. There's an android app but it doesn't have nearly the functionality of the web interface or the on-screen device interface. All things considered, it's very clumsy to use. Also, while my cameras support 2048x1536 resolution, the NVR only handles 1920x1080. This isn't a huge difference but does mean that I'm losing about 1/4 of the vertical resolution and a little bit of the horizontal. The software seems a little flaky, or maybe the device is just underpowered, since the various camera displays tend to vanish in the multi-camera view, but then come back when I press the "show all cameras" button or whatever it's labeled.A minor nit is that there seems to be no way to disable the buzzer, which goes off when it boots, and at other times I've been unable to identify. It's loud and in a home, wakes people up. There are check boxes in various places to disable it for various events, but it still beeps.I'd return it, but stupidly threw out the packaging materials and box. I'll probably toss it in my junk box with the cables that don't fit anything anymore, and buy something better.

Great features and options for the price. Interface could use some work, but is nonetheless rock-solid.
Great for the price. Software is a bit wonky, but is nonetheless solid and does exactly as it should. Once you figure out the intricacies of the setup and interface you're good to go. It has a very loud alarm/beep for errors after a power outage/switch reset/camera goes down, etc. It can be ridiculously annoying during a storm, flicker, network reconfig, but it does its job.Web interface is, as w/ most similar Chinese cam software, ActiveX and thereby Internet Explorer dependent. If you intend to take full advantage of the remote interface for viewing and especially config, this can be a pain. Nelly's does have a Mac native control and view package, but it is similarly difficult to config.Regardless, once over the hurdles and accustomed to the way of the world, it's a great product that I would buy again and recommend to anyone looking for an IPCam DVR.

Good value...
I am pretty impressed with this unit...I threw a spare solid state drive in it and it has performed well. Setup was pretty straight forward...for those who have worked with these types of security recorders. Had no problem whatsoever picking up my dahua cameras and works with an inexpensive ELP camera that I picked up from Amazon. The vMEyesuper app I use with my iPhone worked well. This unit does not have all the bells and whistles...no snapshot with motion detection alert, but that is fine with me...the recording aspect and being able to review it remotely with my phone works very well and that is what I wanted. Does not seem to burden my network at all. And yes, web viewing via a browser does require IE to get the full ability, but this is the industry standard. You can pay a great deal more and not get what this thing offers. Amazing what they can throw on a small circuit board these days...

like i said
This started out as a well intentioned import from the seller, after its rebranded to a USA themed name, however, there are pockets of cameras that work with this, but very limited.i've grown skeptical of proceeding any further, or jumping thru any hoops, and went with blue iris software, readynas drive on the network, along with a dns address, i can not tell you how relieving it is to be able to view my house from anywhere in the world, plus i can buy any wifi camera, and add it instantly without any issue. This is how a security system should setup, right out from the box,not after many trial and errors, and many emails, or calls.like i said, this started out well intentioned, and has not matured any further from last year when i bought this unit. So it sits in my "lesson learned" box.

Max recording only 2MP
The recorder works ok but doesn't advertise that it only records up to 2MP stream. Sure it's 1080p but if you have 3MP cams, it will default to the lower resolution substream which is even lower. Additionally, the web interface has no configuration options making you suffer through a mouse and no keyboard for any configurations that you need to make to get it to work with your cams. The directions booklet is pretty much non informative and the mini-cd it ships with is unusable unless you have an outdated cd tray to rest it in.Support is good though. They are reasonably responsive and knowledgable. Two stars because the actual recording resolution was not plainly advertised and information in packaging is basically non-existent. I would not have ordered or would have returned had either of those things been plainly obvious and not had to go through support to get that figured out.
