If I take this at the first hint of catching a cold, by keeping each lozenge in my mouth as long as possible, I hardly get sick at all. No cough, no blocked up nose even, unless it's the type of severe cold that is wiping all my friends out for a week. I used to get really sick with colds before I started using this. But for over 10 years now, I haven't had to take a single day off work due to a cold. Because it seems to interfere with viral replication, it's all about taking it as soon as possible. If you take it when you're already sick it might help a bit but it's not going to be as effective as taking it before the symptoms kick in. I've even taken it prophylactically (as a preventative) when my nearest and dearest start coming down with a cold. If you're not convinced, you can do some Googling on the subject.And I'm really glad they came out with a sugar free version, so now you don't have to worry about tooth rot with it being in your mouth all day.

I don't know if it is the placebo effect or if the zinc genuinely reduces the strength and length of my cold symptoms, but I really do swear by these. Normally I buy them at Walmart, but my local branch doesn't carry the sugar free variety of Cold-Eeze zinc lozenges. And, I'm not about to ruin my keto diet just because I have a cold. These tasted just like the regular ones and getting them in a 3-pack let me keep a pack at home and in the office, and a spare pack in case one of the first two ran out. Excellent value.

If you suck on one of these every couple of hours when you first get a tickle in your throat, they can prevent the cold from starting. If the cold just started, these lozenges help you get thru symptoms faster. Read the instructions. My boyfriend and I love these. I prefer the cherry, sugarfree.

Came just in time. I have chronic kidney disease and can’t take a lot of medications. And I need sugar free. These work great!

They really do help to keep colds at bay and to speed up recovery if you get sick. Stores carry the ones with sugar, but the sugar-free ones are hard to find. Thanks, Amazon!

I take this at the first sign of a cold or if I have been around people that are sick. Works every time my home always has some available

It works as long as I use it 2-4 times a day and use Xlear Nasal Spray twice a day.
