Inspirational Story
My own daughter was adopted from Eastern Europe and has struggled with health issues and I thought this book would help lift her spirits and also inspire her that she can't and should not give up. It did just that and I'm very happy with the book and the story inside. What an amazing never give up story! She went through so much to come out in the end the total winner! Its an easy and fairly quick read and you won't forget about this wonderful girl. Blessings to her and her future!

Inspiring and faith building true story!! Love it!!
Wonderful story! I am reading it to my girls and we are enjoying it. Great book for adopted kids and kids with disabilities. Also, any kid. Shows you that you can succeed despite obstacles. I love Jessica's faith in God and her attitude that she is just like anyone else.

A great way to tell your story through the important impactful changes
The story is great as we see her go from orphan to successful athlete and then filling in the voids as she moves on. Well done, well told and thanks for the inspiration!

Endearing, inspiring and thought provoking!
My girls are all swimmers and we all have enjoyed this book. Jessica's story is amazing. A must read. Accompanying photographs are perfectly paired with her journey. We look forward to seeing her in the 2020 Paralympics and see her break more records and open more doors!

This Belongs In Elementary Schools
I remember being an elementary school kid and reading stories true and fictional designed to inspire me, and they probably effected me for the rest of my life. This is the kind of story that's simply written enough that a first or 2nd grader could probably read it, or would probably enjoy having their parents read it to them.To be honest I expected this one to be a bit pretentious as the cover looks like a "Poor Little Rich Girl" story about (mocking voice) how awful it is overcoming adversity when your parents are rich. What I found was the opposite. This is the story about someone with indomitable spirit. This girl didn't care that she was missing both her legs. She didn't like anyone telling her what she couldn't do, and refused to accept limits.I think the kind of drive shown here is something that kids especially need to see. Because the world we live in is filled with people who will tell you what you can and can't do, and that you need to be realistic, and other such nonsense. It's good to see that there are people out there who are determined to run into challenges head-on and willing to push their limits to win despite the hand of cards they've been dealt. It's especially wonderful to see this from a young woman.I thought this book would be condescending but instead it's inspiring. The story it tells is a simple one but for kids I think it's an important one. It's got lots of nice pictures and it's very readable (though it does jump around in time a lot).Recommended for kids and especially for schools and libraries.
