I've recently begun building DIY guitar pedals, and have started drilling my own enclosures. Using drill templates as guides for the holes, I use a starter punch to mark my holes, use a small drill bit to start the holes, then use these for the various holes for the pots, footswitch, LED, I/O jacks, etc. Given that those holes are usually different sizes, these step drill bits allow me to slowly drill until each piece fits just right.These are great for the DIY pedal builder who may not have a drill press or a great work space, but has a hand drill. They get the job done!

i used it to step up a hole i had drilled using a drill bit in 3/8 steel plate . took a little effort but it did work using cutting oil

This is a real affordable step bit. It can take a beating, it all depends what type of material you are using. For the price, I highly recommend you buy a backup.

This bit worked really well for creating a 1" hole in an 1/8 inch thick electrical box. A punch would have been easier but I only needed to make one hole so this was a lot cheaper. Seems to be no worse for wear after the one hole.

I hade to drill some holes into my frame in order to attach a hitch. The instructions available online widely diminished the complexity of this task. This sucker made short-work of the project. Great value for the $$.

I bought this, not sure of how it would perform. I needed to drill about 80 holes in a steel firepit ring. I had spent 2 hours the day before trying to use and burning up my normal drill bits. Once I received this, I had the project done in no time. Using WD40 as my only cutting lubricant, it performed flawlessly. I would recommend this step bit to anyone looking to drill 1/2" holes in steel without hesitation.

Excelente por el precio , lo utilice en placa de 1/8" y perforo sin problema , recomemiendo utilizar aceite para mantener el filo y larga vida. La forma helicoidal del filo supera las brocas escalonadas de filo recto esto extiende la vida util de Neiko.

No he tenido oportunidad de usarlo pero todo se ve idéntico a la imagen espero me sean muy utiles
