So far, very good
Third update...belt is still going strong. Hours more use, and no issues to speak of. Seems like the perfect belt. Hard to believe it works as well as it does.Second update to my original review below.... I'm extremely impressed with this belt. I have since used it for a minimum of 30 hours of very hard chipping and shredding. I'm talking about having a very large brush pile that I had accumulated over several years, so it was a combination of fresh green limbs, hard dry limbs, and even some rotted limbs. I was feeding this stuff in as fast as I could, not walking to get another limb from a downed tree, so it was working very hard.I spent a lot of days, basically running each day until a fresh tank of gas ran out before taking a break, and this belt has been up to the task. The only thing that I notice is that the "fabric" looking covering that wraps around the entire belt seems to be coming loose from the inside, thinner edge of the belt that is inside the driving V-pulleys, but, other than that minor issue, that doesn't seem to affect the belt in any way, it has worked far better than expected. No smoking, no slipping, no need to adjust for stretch, no issues at all.Considering the number of large limbs that I ran through the chipping blade, which can really drag the cutter wheel and cause slipping of the belt through the motor pulley and heating it up, I don't think you could ask for anything more from a belt. I even had a small chip wedge itself in-between the cutting wheel and the frame, causing a constant drag on the cutting wheel, and some smoke from the belt before I could shut it down and clear that chip.Just a note, when chipping, you want to "jab" the limb into the cutter blade, in and out, so that it chips a little, and then allows the blade to catch back up to the same speed as the motor, otherwise you will drag down the blade-wheel speed and the motor is fighting it to get back up to speed, which causes slipping and heat due to friction, which can melt a belt quickly if you don't do it right. You also want to rotate the limb in 90° turns after each jab so that you don't create a thin strip of limb that goes between the cutting wheel and frame. Shredding doesn't have this issue nearly as bad, as it's just a bunch of flailing edges beating the smaller limbs until it shreds them.Original review below:I bought this for my Super Tomahawk 5hp chipper-shredder, which is about a 1989 vintage. This belt has performed flawlessly so far, after about 10 to 15 hours of use. No burning smell, it is flexible, and it seems to be the perfect fit to the machine, which is supposed to take a 5/8" wide by 29" length belt.So glad to have found this belt, though I don't know why it didn't show up in my initial searches for a replacement belt.I used the Murray belt, under the same usage conditions, and it only lasted about 1/2 hour, or less, before heating up, burning hot, and disintegrating.

Exact fit and durable belt
I used the belt to operate a Troy-Bilt wood chipper. The belt was an exact fit and functioned properly. It is durable and easy to install. I would buy it again.

Holding Up Well
Before buying this Maxpower V-belt, I'd gotten one from 8Ten, thinking one brand was about as good as another. The 8Ten flew apart after about an hour of use. So I read the reviews before buying again. The Maxpower has seen more than 10 hours of use this season, and is holding up pretty well (I just checked it, and found a couple of inches of shallow shredding on the inside). I expect it to last at least another few seasons, which is pretty good value.

MaxPower 347574 lasted only an hour on the 8hp Tomahawk
This MaxPower 347574 Premium Belt Reinforced with Kevlar Fiber Cords, 5/8" x 29", seemed to be a good purchase to replace the NAPA belt we usually use that is now $25 at NAPA. A Gates belt, same retail price at O'Rielley, gave the longest life, but the store is out. So I ordered this belt for the Troybilt 8hp Super Tomahawk Chipper/Shredder based on the reviews. Quick delivery from Amazon Prime. In my case , after less than1 Hr the sides started coming off the belt so that only the rubber was there for traction. It started smoking, and after a few more minutes, the fabric from the sides suddenly got caught on one of the pulleys and the machine came to an abrupt halt. FYI, the pulleys are in good shape. I'm sending this back to Amazon, but getting another just like it. Maybe I had a bad one. There's chippin' to do and winter's acoming. The belt may be reinforced with Kevlar, but if it won't take the rigors of the chipper/shredder, it's just marketing hype. FYI, I also found that Amazon sells the Gates 6929 belt that had performed so well in the past. It's not as costly from Amazon as this belt, so I ordered one. Now I'll have a couple of different belts to compare, and will post the outcome. $17 per hour for belts may seem expensive, but it's way less than having the branches hauled off, and I get wood mulch for my efforts.

Good replacement belt for chipper
I have a 5HP troy bolt super tomahawk chipper from the 1980s, and this drive belt worked great to replace the previous one that finally failed. I've only used it for a couple of days of work, but so far so good.

It's not bulletproof
Belt is great replacement for my 1960's Troy built chipper shredder. Works perfect and fit great. It's not bulletproof so don't shoot at it.

V belt
Worked well good quality was able to use this on my tomahawk chipper that’s 35 years old. This is the same chipper that’s in the movie Fargo

A quality belt that holds up well
It gets rough use and standup much better than the regular belts - which shred quickly. A +++++++
