Great for young fisherman starting to learn the sport
My grandson was constantly getting his line wrapped around the line guides and this rod and real fixed that issue. Rod and real are of good quality and do I good job of removing the frustration of learning fishing for the young ones.

Didn't work after 40 min of use.
We got 2 if these and one I could not even get to work. It seems to be locked up in the mechanism and won't allow line to come out and the other one the drag is so bad and can't be adjusted that can't even reel the line in. Used them for a total of 40 min and can't use any more. Unfortunately we are out of the return window for these so guess we are stuck with 2 kids walking sticks instead of fishing poles.

The rod is well constructed and easy to use
We purchased this rod after reading about it in Boys Life Magazine (Boy Scouts of America). The rod is well constructed and easy to use. Exactly as described except NO REEL. The first order we received was missing the reel. Amazon would quickly to get another rod/reel out to us which was received 2 days later. Unfortunately, the second shipment was without a reel also. This a huge disappointment as we had planned to leave on a fishing trip that day. We loved the rod so we kept it and purchased a separate reel. Together they work beautifully!

Steinhauer reel
The rod is good, but the reel jamed, drag locked up then the whole reel locked up, couldn't get the line out or in. Don't waste your money, go 4 the emrod, more money, better quality!!!
