have had different can openers over the years bought this can opener because they work every time and no sharp edges William

I am a fan of Khun Rikon equipment, and this can opener is another excellent product, easy to use, very smooth cutting action, works well on a variety of tins, with an ingenious safety lid lifter, and no sharp edges left on tin. This might be just a tin opener, however it is tactile, extremely well engineered, and something a lot of thought and attention to detail has gone into.

Having owned one of these before I find the updated version brilliant. With two dogs to feed it is great to open cans and not have sharp or frayed edges to cans. Safety for not only me but my dogs as well. Price is good and saves the vet bills with regard to shards of metal in the food. All in all well satisfied. Thank you.

These days, most cans come with a ring-pull lid. But when they don't, they seem to be ever more challenging to get open! I have been through a number of can openers which "seemed" to do the job, but which lose the knack of living up to their name after only a short period. Not so this little beauty! It works perfectly EVERY time and is very simple to operate. It even has a special tool on it's edge which is perfect for popping the lid on any particularly stubborn cans!

After the tin opener we had for years gave up, I thought the Kuhn Rikon would be a worthy successor. On using it for the first few times, it appeared that it was not working. I opened a can of beans, thought, no that did not work and proceeded to use the opener on the other side of the can only for the beans to spill out of the underside that HAD BEEN OPENED - JUST NOT OBVIOUSLY. The trick in using this is to line up the opener correctly and don't expect the can lid to be retained in the opener as many types do. Although the can may not look open, when you use the lip grabber mechanism (on the side of the opener) the can lid comes away. It is true though - there are no sharp edges to cut yourself on and after practice it becomes second nature.

Have had one before and so when it broke had to get another. This is just so easy to use and when you have been used to it, using the old type of can opener becomes a pain. Unfortunately it has spoiled me for others and it does cost more, but for ease and the fact that you never have to touch the lid I would always get one of these.
