7 1/4 IN. X 5 IN. A white stoneware clay body vessel thrown on an electric wheel. I produced this piece at a local community clay studio and fired it in their gas kiln. The simplistic form emphasizes the glazes' unique interaction with each other. The piece was first dipped in a Green Matte glaze for its wide range of effects with any glaze, be they runny or stiff. The uppermost part was then dipped into a Cobalt Blue glaze, which absorbed the matte characteristics of the underglaze. This process gives this piece a wonderful feel to the hands and a surface quality that glossy glazes lack, as well as showing off small effects of the under-glaze poking through. This piece will serve as a nice decorative piece to your home or office.
