Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts Paperback – March 5, 2015

If you like easy piecing, this book is not for you. It does involve paper piecing (which I love to do) and can involve small pieces of fabric and lots of seams. It has some very challenging techniques and quilts. The opportunity to be creative is there if you wish or you can follow a pattern as shown and create a very personal quilt. If you make a block on paper, you can color it, make copies, then copy and rotate the block to see what kind of patterns you get (or try different colors in every block). Try changing the coloring and try again. The different designs you can make just be changing even one piece of material is endless. Once you get the pattern you like, get your fabric and have fun piecing it together. Love the book. It is very inspiring.

Great book - explains all the different kinds of spirals beautifully. I did the Baravelle Spiral class at the Paducah Quilt show last month and the book was a nice complement to the class. I bought it to find out how to quilt a wormhole and after the class and reading the book I am confident that I will be able to render the wormhole effectively in cloth. RaNae is an engaging teacher fluent is Spanish and English and this book is really worth the buy.
