Dehydrator perfect for someone just starting out. We tried making beef jerky and some fruit and they came out better than expected. Still learning but I think this dehydrator does the job.

Came with a scratch but it's great for use!
The OSTBA Food Dehydrator is a great tool for anyone looking to preserve food and create homemade dried snacks. While it delivers on its promise and works effectively, it does take a bit longer to dehydrate items compared to some other models, which could add to the prep time for larger batches. This might require a bit of patience for those who want quick results. Additionally, the unit arrived with a small scratch. While it wasn't significant and didn't affect its functionality, it's worth noting for anyone particular about the appearance of their appliances. Overall, there wasn't anything majorly wrong with the product, and it performs its job well. For its price point, it’s a solid choice for beginners or casual users who are willing to invest the time required for longer dehydration processes.

Does the job well!
I’ve used it daily since I got it. Salmon jerky, beef jerky and fruit leathers all came out amazing. It comes with a recipe book and so far the recipes are great!

Versatile and convenient
I’m now able to make my own healthy snacks. Compact enough to fit on my counter but big enough to create a variety of snacks. So versatile and convenient.

Good dehydrator, but no fruit leather exists for this machine.
This is a very good little food dehydrator - compact, easy to clean, works well, and from what I gather, energy efficient. However, in the included recipes, they explain how to make fruit leather, and direct you to use the fruit leather tray. There is none included, nor is one available from the company. Given the dehydrator's small size, they don't appear to make silicone or plastic fruit leather trays small enough for use in the machine. Everything is too big. If you are looking to use this for all the myriad ways you can use a dehydrator, just know that unfortunately you cannot make fruit roll or fruit leather with this, as the recommended parts for that don't exist.

Sturdy
I have used this dehydrator several times and have been very happy with the results. I actually use it to make my own fertilizer and bug repellent for my seedlings. After my crop comes in I'll be using it for food. The smell is terrific. It smells like the food you are dehydrating. I can't say anything about the flavor because I do the skins. The dehydrator is sturdy and reliable.

Temp Guide Is Inaccurate
First of all, this is a fairly small dehydrator. But, it'll do. I need it primarily to dry herbs and veggies out of the garden. Tested it on a batch of fresh cilantro, only filled three of the five trays. I put one of the empty trays on top and one on the bottom for maximum air flow. Set the temperature at 95 as per their recommendation in the recipe guide. However, after 12 hours, my cilantro was only wilted, not even dry at all. Raised the temp a notch, two hours later...it was half dried. Upped it another temp notch and 6 hours later, my cilantro was FINALLY dried. It should not have taken that long. Next time I will turn it to the highest temp setting and just make a note of hour long it takes for each thing. I miss my old dehydrator...that thing lasted 12 years and worked like a beast nonstop before it finally died....they just don't make things like they used to.
