Be aware of your peephole diameter
So I purchased this peephole to replace a peephole on a door that didn't have front glass. But I did not notice their was a clear diameter difference from my current peephole to this one. With the right tools and bits this is an easy install but if you dont have a proper size bit (5/8" drill or paddle bit) you will not have a good time.Other then that obvious information I'm very happy with the quality, finish and appearance. It works as intended with a much wider view then a normal peephole. With the little door over the eyepiece it provides you with piece of mind that a person with a 2 way viewer will not be able to see into your home.I recommend buying one to anyone that wants a wide angle POV from their peephole.

I spy with my little eye...
This is the second unit I bought - the first one a TG2614YG was piece of dung pie - it came in three different pieces and THERE WAS NO RETURN. Now i mind you I don't care to return it if it's fine, but there SHOULD be a return for cases like mine. Anyways, when examining the original one, I did like the fit and finish of it, so I ordered TG3016YG. So riddle me this, there are three distinct product models - TG2614YG, TG2814YG and this one the TG3016YG. I can't tell what the difference is, but guessing maybe the higher number is either newer production or better quality. But then, they sell for similar prices soo... Anywho, the TG3016YG came correct, fit like a glove and even with the goophy TOGU engraving on the lid part, it's a worthwhile investment. NOTE THAT IT IS A 5/8 SO MEASURE YOUR HOLE FIRST. Enlarging a 9/16 to a 5/8 isn't a terrible ordeal, but it does add 8 minutes to the project - I used a 5/8 drill with duct tape on both sides of the hole to make sure the edges do not shred - worked perfectly. The view is good and because it's larger (5/8) it gathers more light so you can see better. The glass part can be twisted off if you ever need to take it apart to clean out condensation. The actual view part seems to be made of poly-carbonate and so does the "glass" dome in the front, except the dome seems to be of different hardness. I haven't measured the field of view, but it does seem to be over 180 - plenty enough. Also it states it's brass which I have no reason to believe, but being close to salt water means you have to be worried about rust, so brass is perfect. We'll see...Would buy again, if I had another external door.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT -- Very pleased
This was perfect! We knew in advance that the diameter of this door eye was slightly larger than the current hole in our door - no problem, just drilled it out to fit in snugly, and it easily screwed in from the other side. Looks really nice on our newly painted charcoal front door, and my husband particularly likes the wide angle for viewing. Heavy Duty. Sturdy. Well made.

Black is more of a very shiny, dark chrome
All in all, this was easy to install (took my husband only a minute to drill the hole) and has a good, clear and wide viewing range (photo attached looking out from inside) and seems to be good quality. But I'm taking a star off because I ordered this in black and in the listing photos it looks like it would be a nice matte black which matched our door hardware, but the peephole I received is a very shiny dark chrome is how I would describe it. See attached comparison of the color vs our schlage matte black door handle. I really did not want anything shiny, but I decided to keep it since the price was decent and at least the peephole is not *right* next to the hardware and I think it's passable, but I would have been happier with this product if it looked like it was pictured on the site. I'd probably still recommend this peephole since I like how clearly we can see our entire porch/driveway/front yard through it, but just be aware that the color received may not be what it appears to be on the listing.

Fantastic
This new peephole is like I was previously blind and now have sight! The old one is 3/8" on the exterior side and a 1/4" hole to look through. I tried to clean it with a q tip., which was useless and I couldn't see it was so cloudy. What a amazing difference this is! I can't believe it and this wnew was $6!! At home dept the cheapest one was $15 and silver but my door hardware is gold. So happy I checked on Amazon. I wish I had more doors to put one on. Love the little privacy door too. I just used a 3/8" drill bit and jiggled it around in the original hole til the new one fit. That may be unprofessional for most people but I didn't feel like driving to a store just for a bigger drill bit.Highly recommend!

Good quality, inexpensive, installation EZ (but you might need a corded drill)
We wanted to install a door viewer on the front door to our new home. After a little research about viewing angles, optics, size of hole needed, door dimension, privacy, etc. I selected this one. It was delivered quickly and took all of 20 minutes to install, including vacuum clean-up of the wood chips from drilling the necessary 5/8" hole. Thanks to other reviewer comments, I also put a small bead of silicone sealant at both ends to ensure a water-tight (rainproof) seal. One other note: my 18V cordless drill didn't have enough torque to drill the hole using a wood bit, so I had to dig out my old, corded drill to do the job. Recommended product.
