I was hesitant to purchase this online because I am a stickler for needing to cook with only the freshest ingredients. The Star Anise was packaged well and fresh with perfect aroma to it. Not dehydrated at all. The dish I made called for toasted and then ground Star Anise. The aroma was amazing.

The star anise are big, beautiful, and full of flavor. I am very happy with this purchase and now realize how small and unflavorful my old ones are. Into the compost!

I have a hard time finding whole Anise Star seeds until I went to Amazon. This product came and the seeds are whole, no broken bits. They are great in the recipes I make and also you can add them to some hot tea i you like.
