Smokey Mountain Herbal Long Cut – Arctic Mint – 5 Can Box - Tobacco Free and Nicotine Free Snuff

Absolutely the best tasting herbal dip replacement ever, I've tried a bunch from Oulaw,Baccoff,and Teazza but this is by far the only one that even comes close to original dip flavor.

Ordered this for my husband and he really enjoys it and such a bonus that it has no nicotine!

Overall not bad, My favorite dip is skoal mint so I was expecting close to that smell, but it smells more like mint mouthwash, texture not bad looks close to long cut and holds in the lip good. The taste is pretty decent, a little burn at first but not bad. It gets a nice spit going and flavor lasts for close to an hour. Definitely could help you to get off the real stuff. Worth it to buy again imo.

First off let me preface my review with the fact that I dipped two cans of snuff per day for thirty five years. I had been wanting to quit for a few years but it wasn't until I required a surgical procedure did I finally take the position to quit. My surgeon refused to perform the procedure until I had been nicotine free for a few months. I tried patches and just dipped the same amount and took patches. I tried the gum and nothing. I tried a couple of different prescriptions and nothing. The problem I had was one, I needed something in my jaw, two, the amount of nicotine my body craved from a two can a day habit none of the cessation products could help curb the craving. My brand of choice has always been Copenhagen Long Cut Straight. While I've tried pretty much every brand of snuff there is I've always liked the straight flavors and always preferred long cut. So what I decided to do was find a product that was a close substitute in the texture, taste, but safe from nicotine and I would take the Rx Chantix and start reducing the dips to nicotine free dips. What I can strongly say to anyone considering this product as a cessation or just looking for a safer alternative is this. This product is a perfect match to the texture of most major brands long cut, the flavor of the straight I would say is closer to Skoal straight than Copenhagen straight but it's very close. Now, while I have always been a straight flavor fan and I hate the smell of wintergreen and mint I was given a can of Smokey Mountain Long Cut Wintergreen to try and let me say if wintergreen is your jam and you like the pack of long cut I highly recommend that version by this company. The only problem with this product is it is hard to find in the retail setting. Could be a geographical location for me but occasionally I will see the wintergreen in certain gas stations but never the straight flavor so I buy off Amazon. I hope this review is helpful to others. I have been nicotine free now for three months and I know for certain if it were not for this product I would not have been able to successfully quit.

Needs more flavor

Unfortunately I have to write a negative review for this product. I really appreciate the companies that have come out with the tobacco/nicotine free dip. I have dipped since I was 13 (48 now) and have tried repeatedly to quit dipping. These products have helped me immensely to that goal (I havent had a dip for over two months now). I have pretty much tried them all now and my findings is if you want something that is the closest to real dip you want a product that is made with a LEAF. Any of these that are made with corn husk or silk are NOT good. They do not pack right, and they dissolve into a sludge in your mouth. This product taste like poison. Absolutely disgusting. I threw the entire log in the trash (I did try and give it a fair try but did not use a full can). So far my finding if you want the closest to cope long cut its baccoff original (pouches only), for texture backoff rough cut (wintergreen and mint only). I have not found anything that had the texture and flavor of cope. Next best has been Bullseye. Somewhere between a snuff and long cut - they call it long cut but its not. The flavors are more like Skoal not cope. Both of these products pack good, have lasting flavor, and dont turn into some strange sludge in your mouth (easy on the gums too). As far as smokey mountain I would pass on this product for now. They need to redesign their product for texture and most definitely for taste.

This is the third order of this stuff I've purchased. The taste is so good I mix it 50/50 with my Grizzly long cut straight and sometimes even 30/70. A month ago I could have walked off of the Grizzly completely but my life seems always stressful and 'I decided' not to quit (I'm single so maybe that's why I dont' choose to quit yet). If I had to quit - this is the product that would make it possible! Yes, the texture is different (it's more sticky and the cut feels different in the mouth) but the flavor is awesome!!!! If you like long cut - this will help you cut back on regular chew by mixing with the herbal snuff UNTIL you are able to quit completely. Like I said, I was able to get down to a 70% herbal to 30% regular ratio - which slowed my constant cravings. I firmly believe that I could be dropping the amount of Grizzly in the mixture until ALL I would be using is this Smokey mountain straight. At that point, the nicotine addiction aspect would be gone and I would only be dealing with the oral behavioral pattern of dipping with herbal (not nearly as difficult to break that habit). I'm only writing this review because it has truly helped me take in less Nicotine and I get more enjoyment from each dip (knowing I am harming myself less). I get more pleasure from fewer dips because of the smooth flavor (of course it's not as harsh as real tobacco). I had forgotten HOW strong real chewing tobacco is until I started mixing it with the herbal. 50/50 mixture is plenty strong for me - I never go more than 50% regular Grizzly now - or it burns my gums. So my gums have actually healed from using this product!! I put straight Grizzly in my cheek the other day and it burned and made my eyes water. So I have definitely made a dent in my addiction!

Product has decent flavor. I stopped tobacco a long time ago but enjoy a dip when working outside, riding or just hanging out.

From Canada. ...finally! As a "dipper" or "chewer" of Scoal and Copenhagen products for over 40 years, Smokey Mountain has created this natural substitute that is helping me eliminate the habit. I first heard of this replacement through my son. I have tried to no avail to eliminate my bad habit numerous times. Hesitant at first, I decided to try Smokey Mountain. The taste was not too bad and the texture was all right. Of course, the nicotine wasn't present so it required a little "mixture" to get me through the rough times. At first, I dipped Smokey and then transferred to Copenhagen. Back and forth...from one to the other. This continued for a short period of time and then I actually mixed the 2 products together. This seemed to curb the desire to use more Copenhagen then Smokey, plus, the nicotine that I was craving slowly disapated. It has now been 3 weeks and I am happy to announce that I am down 2/3 of my Copenhagen intake. My one request to the manufacturer of Smokey would be to grind the natural dip a little more. I was never one to dip "rough cut" and always preferred the "snuff" cut. I find that Smokey is just a little bit too rough to the point where it does effect my gums a little. All in all, I am thrilled with this product. I am spending a great deal less money on the "duty paid" American tobacco then on the Canadian made Smokey Mountain. At some point soon, I hope to be nicotine free. I understand that everyone is different when it comes to addiction and I know that the nicotine hooked me pretty good.
