The perfect gift for any movie fanatic!
Saw this book and loved it. Gave it to a friend of mine who is a huge movie buff for his wedding and he loved it as well. A great book for anyone who loves the movies.

Excellent book!
This book is an amazing resource. Each movie selection has a very detailed write-up detailing why it was selected. There is a checklist in the front of the book so you can keep track of the movies you’ve seen which is also useful.

Not a bad book; stupid title
Do you need this book to tell you that The Godfather is a good movie? These books of lists are useful or not depending on whether they inform you of some good movies, books, songs, or whatever that you didn’t know about, and with 1,001 choices to work with you’ll probably pick up a few from this book. The title, however, is absurd: “Must See Before You Die.” For one thing, what would be the point of seeing these movies after you die? For another, “must” is ridiculous. What’s going to happen to you if you don’t see Bring Me the Head of Alredo Garcia? Most of the world’s people have never seen Zabriskie Point and are none the worse for it.Worst omissions: Howard Hawks’s Ball of Fire (1941) , Billy Wilder’s One, Two, Three (1961), They’ve got several Disney animated movies, but not the best one: Lady and the Tramp. They’ve got the wrong version of The Thing (1982; should have been 1951).Worst inclusions: They wasted three choices on Michael Haneke’s pretentious, hateful dreck: Funny Games, Das Weisse Band, and La Pianiste (Haneke can waste your time in three languages).

If you love movies
Overall a great collection with excellent reviews of so many films you may or may not have heard of - but may decide to find and enjoyI did note one error - in Jezebel (1938) Fay Bainter is listed as having been nominated for Best Actress for Jezebel. In fact her Best Actress nomination that year was for White Banners. She was nominated that year for Best Supporting Actress for Jezebel and indeed won that award. So far this is the only mistake this admitted movie nerd has found.
