Power Pill Grinder for uncoated pills with AC adapter, rechargeable batteries, & containers

It DOES grind the large 3/4" X 1/4" so called "Horse pills". The torque of the machine is amazing.My wife has to take 10 Citracal pills a day (3/4" X 1/4") and 2 Magnesium pills (3/4" X 1/4") daily...and along with being difficult to swallow...they do a 'number' on her tummy. The machine pulverizes them so they can be mixed with applesauce which makes them easy to take and digest. These pills are HARD.It does take a minute or two to crush each one (individually) so some patience is required. The machine comes with two storage jars which are perfect for mixing the powder with the applesauce. We use plastic medicine cups to store each batch of pills until needed.The grinder uses 3 AAA rechargeable batteries (included) which makes it portable. After grinding a days worth of these very hard pills (12)...the power of the grinder has not decreased at all. We do put it back on charge though when done just to keep the batteries charged.Added Note: If the large 3/4" pills are scored...they can be snapped in half. This make them easier and faster to grind.UPDATE: Still working great. As suggested before...if a large pill can be cut /snapped in 1/2 it will be quicker to grind.As an added note I have found some small jars on Amazon that can be used for storage that can be directly ground into. This is very helpful if on a trip or if you just want to store some ground pills. (Clear Acrylic Travel Refillable Jar - 1 oz (6 Pack) + Spatulas and Labels) See picture.You can also hold the grinder over small styrofoam cereal bowls if it is desired to use them right away and then adding a fruit like Applesauce.UPDATE 2...I noticed that some people find opening the cover is a problem if they have some kind if disability.See the picture.Holding the grinder in you right hand...put your left index finger around the top of the grinder and your left thumb just under the bottom of the blue bubble of the cover. Then using your thumb...push the cover upwards. This is easier...and much less effort than trying to push the cover up with your 2 thumbs on the two areas with the 6 small bumps on the cover.Hope this may help some of you.

Sadly, I have to return this item. It is very hard for older people to operate. I bought it for my mother, and even I can barely open it's compartments. She didn't have any luck. She just doesn't have the hand strength. And she's a retired pianist who still practices once a day! Since I would suspect the elderly use most of the pills in this country, I don't know why somebody would design a product so difficult to open.

This little guy really helped us through a rough time - even though it says it's not designed to do coated tablets, some of my husband's prescriptions do seem to have a coating, but it handled them just fine. Large pills need to be cut in half since the grinding chamber is a bit small, but it works like a charm! If you are using a feeding/PEG tube you have to grind a bit longer to ensure a fine grind, but definitely recommend it. Compact & easily packed for travel.

In the back woods, we would say this machine is an allegory for the saying where does the BEAR DO IT'S BUSINESS IN THE WOODS!So much attention must be given to under filling with less than 2 pills , the dust clogs constantly and the blue stripe deactivates the motor for no reason. The one we got stopped after only 12 days.The maker of this should be taken out and whipped to put so much poor quality plastic in this device.Quality control in design well that "sucks and blows" win the Ennovea Powder Pill grinder.DONT BUY THIS TURD!!!

I love the energy tablets I buy, but they are just too big and I have trouble swallowing them, so after they are ground up in this wonderful little pill grinder, the powdery substance goes right down. The Pill Grinder is amazingly quick and light to hold.

Bought it, tried it and sent it back.Too slow and weak to break up even medium sized pills. There are better options out there.

Works great after I took it apart and put it back together. I love the removable back so the crushed pills can go right into the cup.

works great, just not very "portable", i use a manual plastic one for that.
