Evil Dead 2 - Book of the Dead Halloween Prop

How cool is this? I used to for a Halloween prop for an Ash costume. Most people had no idea what it was. Those that did got excited about it. It's easily recognizable if you are familiar with the Evil Dead movies.

It's not bound is flesh or inked in blood. Couldn't even call and demons with it. Oh well

I love this prop book. I wish it opened. Half tempted to buy a second one and see if I can make pages for it. Its great for the Evil Dead fan.

I was actually kind of disappointed in this. It wasn't really the price that got me, it was that when opened it, there was a tag calling it an official replica, And it looked alright at first glance, I suppose, but when you pick it up, it's clearly just a piece of foam slipped into a latex sack shaped into book form. The foam doesn't even fit properly-- you can feel it rattle inside when you wiggle it around.And honestly that's fine. I'm more concerned that it's painted to look like a fresh turd. It's basically medium brown and semi-dark brown-- two vary similar colors providing absolutely no contrast to see the face in a dimly lit room. Even more odd is the high-gloss finish. It looks wet more than like leather.I ended up going over it with some flat brown paint in varying colors to bring out the distinction and it looks a bit better now. It still doesn't have the same look at the movies, but in a dark room there's no mistaking the similarities now.

Pretty awesome prop. I purchased it simply to have in the office. I am a huge Evil Dead fan...
