These knock sensor harnesses lack an insulating shield around it's wiring. Due to this manufacturing error they are being discounted. When you replace your knock sensor, or have access to the knock sensor, replace the knock sensor harness. This harness is common to corrode and fail. This will trigger the ECU to go into safety mode. The harness is only accessible, when the engine is removed, or the transmission removed. So for any rebuild, replace this harness.
