I have 2 girls, 5 and 7 yrs old. I have been trying for a year to get them (with our help of course) to pick up after themselves, help to make their beds, put their laundry in the hamper, brush their OWN teeth etc., but it has been a hit OR miss mission! I bought the Yoyoboko and sat down with them to explain how it would work. They both decided to start out with a 25 star goal at the end of the week. I asked them what they wanted their reward to be at the end of each week, if they achieve their 25 stars? After I explained that it could be a small toy (under 5 dollars), 3 dollars for their piggy bank or they could have time with mommy or daddy, my 7 year old said she wanted to go to a pottery making studio with her dad and my 5 year old wanted to go to the movies with me! How amazing!! Since I purchased the Yoyoboko rewards chart my girls wake up in the morning and run into my room to begin attacking the different chores for the day, in order to get their stars! The ONLY reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is too small. With all of the different chores being offered, my girls want to try to do them all - but unfortunately I am going to either end up having to buy a second board and waste the magnets that come with it or return it and make one! I think it would be 5 stars if the board were longer or even came in 2 choices - the one you see advertised and one with an additional attachment or longer board so all the chores can be put on the left side.

I can't believe how motivating this was to get my kids to do their chores. It is perfect for 2 kids. I thought about making one for my husband, but that didn't go over as well. I chose this one because it is colorful and has 9 lines for many chores and an additional column for extra things. This is needed for older kids (mine are 6 and 8). The predetermined chores were more useful than from other brands for my family where chores are more important than behaviors. I like that it has a hanging cord and attachable pen. The magnets for the stars aren't great, and the stars are tiny, but that hasn't been much of a problem- they do stay put. I did buy some extra magnets for chores not on the board ("feed the chickens") as suggested by others, but they don't match Therefore, I do wish they provided 5 or 6 extra blank magnets for more customization because the colors of the original are nice. I'd also like a longer board given that older children have more things to do and with 2 kids, 9 options isn't enough for us!

So I needed help getting my children, ages 6 and 5 to learn some responsibilities. I was tired of asking them (all the time) to clean up toys, or telling them to put their clothes in the hamper instead of leaving them on the floor. In fact, even bath time was becoming a struggle with my 5 year old, so my husband and I decided to try a chart. I came across this one during my search and liked what I saw. I love that is has so many responsibilities magnets to choose from, in fact, there is more then enough there. I also love the color of the board. The best part of this board was that my children were super excited to get it! We have been using it faithfully for almost 2 weeks now and my children have done a complete 180 on their behavior. There is no more struggle with bath time or sitting down to do homework. They look forward to earning stars everyday. I love this board. Worth every penny!

My daughter is only 15 months but I thought it would be good to start her early with the rewards system. This kit comes with some very nice prewritten tasks that can apply to her now and some that I will save for later, like actual chores. The little illustrations on them help her to understand what they are. The little starts are great and you get plenty of them. I like the pen/eraser that is included so I can write in tasks or stars if I need to to customize it. The only thing I was a little disappointed in was that it wasn't magnetic so I could put it on the fridge. It is kind of heavy and it has to be hung by the string on top. If it had that feature it would be great!

Magnetics work great, very strong magnetics! I initially purchased this for my 8 year old daughter, not thinking I would be using it for my 3 and half year old! I have it hanging in my 3 years and half year olds room where she can reach it, I have started her out with 4 chores - make her bed, clean your room, brush your teeth, and take a bath. The pictures for each of the icons makes it easy for her to recognize where to place each star since she can't read. I really like that you can change out the chores as needed. My 8 year old likes the dry erase marker, but I do put the marker away in a drawer so my 3 year old can't get it. My kids like that they have some input to their reward, my 8 year old is looking forward to a sleep over for her reward, and my 3 year old is looking forward to an ice cream sandwich for her reward !

I think this board is one of the best I have seen. I only have one child, so the second spot is a little redundant, but I have been using the yellow stars as half marks, for chores that are not done properly or have needed reminders, so it is working out. My son loves the chart and loves giving himself stars when he completes a chore! As a matter of fact, HE is the one who opened the package and set up the chart!The only thing I wish was that there were more spaces, as the chores that are mentioned are all quite usable thus leaving no extra space for the personalized ones I would like to add.

This is one of the first boards I've found that I works perfectly for 2 kids. I love that i can customize a few of the spots and the magnetic stars all attach very well. My only reason for the 1 star deduction was that straight out of the box the upper corner of the sign was lifting from the magnetic backing and I had to glue it back down. It also came a little warped so it didn't want to fit to the fridge flat... thankfully you can set it under something heavy and it will help flatten it out.
