Finally, my xbox will work on the same network as my friends.
As the title suggests, I bought this port switch for really one reason. At my apartment complex we apparently all have the same internet connection (same IP address) so when I wanted to play my roommate on Xbox Live, Xbox won't let us connect to each other when both of us go through a router or neither of us use a router(not sure why). Getting this network switch allowed me to still use a wireless router (for other internet usage) but have my Xbox hardwired to the switch, so it seems like the Xbox is connected directly to the Ethernet wall jack.So that's the specific reason why I bought this network switch, though it can be used as a "router" in itself (just a wired one). The switch is constantly plugged in, and I move A LOT of data but it still works perfectly. It's durable, doesn't take much space and looks professional. In the end, the network switch does what its supposed to do and it only cost 7 or 8 bucks. If you have that problem with your xbox I suggest you give this a try!

DOA!
I normally avoid D-Link products and after receiving this unit and finding out it was defective out of the box I realize why. A simple switch is a pretty simple device and I'm pretty sure it isn't that hard to test it actually powers on when refurbishing a unit like this.TL;DRDon't bother with this item

Good Value
The reason that I chose this particular unit was because it is extremely cheap, and because I already have one that I've been using for about 2 years with no problems what-so-ever. I purchased this second refurbished D-Link switch to add connectivity to my ever expanding list of "connected" home theater equipment. I have one ethernet jack on the wall by my television which was originally used to connect my PS3 to the internet, however I now have a TV, PS3, Blu-Ray player, & Tivo that all require connection to the internet for various reasons. I prefer to use a wired connection on all my home theater equipment simply to avoid the hassle of setup and for ease of troubleshooting when issues arise. With this D-Link switch, I simply plugged it in to the power outlet, connected my devices to it, and connected it to my network. No further setup required. All devices access the internet seamlessly. I couldn't have asked for a simpler setup process.

Dlink refurbished switch worked perfectly out of the box. No issues.
WORKED PERFECTLY, great buy for under $10. I read the negative reviews on this switch but took a chance and bought the unit anyway because the price was great. I tested the unit and it worked great and is currently connecting both my home theater PC and XBOX to my home router. The referbished Dlink switch powered on and was plug and play (as switches are) instantly connected my computer and xbox to the home network.Note that a network cable was not included but that was no issue. White box included the switch, power adapter, and a CD.Glad I took the chance on purchasing this refurb for a great price. A switch is so simple that it either works or it doesn't and mine worked with no issue.

This is a great deal
The product arrived in a generic cardboard box with a power cable, user manual on CD, and four new sticky-back rubber feet. Everything was in like new condition, and the only thing that hinted that it wasn't brand new besides the box was that the power cable wasn't wound up all nice and perfect like a brand new one would be. The switch powered on fast and my network accepted all three connected devices without any issues. For anybody that is wondering, the front indicator lights are green in color.

I have several of these
They work. Unmanaged switches can't get much simpler than that. Plug'n'play, baby. I have a wired network in my house, and we have lots of computers and other connected equipment. It isn't all wireless, and I'm not sure I want it all to be. But each room only has one Ethernet jack, so I have one of these in several rooms, so I can fan out the connections. They have never failed me.

Does Its Job, No Issues
Bought this switch for its affordability and its number of ports. Haven't had a single issue since it arrived, and it's been running pretty much nonstop for about two years already. Package comes with switch, power supply, and extra ethernet cable.
