Chainsaw Pull Starter Cord. Guaranteed for Life!

Bought this online for my Chainsaw. The original cord was way too big in diameter to fit my saw so I called the number on their website and the guy sent me out another one for free. The second one was quite a bit smaller. I just need to put it on now and test it. I was quite pleased with how responsive the company was and how willing he was to send me a better fit. Make sure you check your saw and get the correct size. Too bad it's not a one size fits all.

Comes unwound when trying to rewind, too stiff, very hard to install on pully wheel, if it wound stay on it would be great.

Product was advertised as 3mm diameter but measures between 3.5mm and 4mm, which made it difficult to thread into recoil spool. Because it is larger diameter less length could be wound on spool, i.e. a shorter pull stroke to start engine. Tried to shorten length but since it is most likely kevlar, it was _very_ difficult to cut. Weave of kevlar is much more coarse than typical cord and not very tight which makes it difficult to feed into recoil spool. Must use super glue ro glue end strands together before feeding through holes. Loose weave also contributes to a flattish or oval cross-section, not round, which causes it to wind into the spool irregularly which takes up more space than original cord. I'm going back to standard nylon starter cord. Good concept to use kevlar for a pull cord, but poor execution.

This product is essentially a glorified nylon cord, and I haven't had it long enough to see how it stands up to the test of time and work. It is still going to be a better cord than those $4 POS cords you get from your local box store such as Home Depot or Lowes.

Installed cord on saw and on the first pull I put a small knick in the cord. Unfortunately there was a sharp edge so I dont blame the maker of this cord. Seems heavy duty and after a few months of service I have yet to have any issues.

get the smaller size one if you have a standard engine

Cheap. The cord ends fray almost instantly causing the inner portion of the cord to continue to be a pain as you’re pulling it through. Would not buy again.

The cord is advertised at having a diameter of 2.5mm. It didn't come close to fitting in my machine, so I measured it: 3.3mm.What a waste of time & money.
