60 Beautiful line drawings of art masterpieces – printed one side of the page
The media could not be loaded. This is a wonderful coloring book – large with 60 designs which are based on a wide variety of art masterpieces. There is a wide range of artists with each design listing the artist, the name of the painting, and the date it was painted (bottom of the page.)The designs are listed in alphabetical order according to the name of the artist with Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema's “A Coign of Vantage” 1895 first and Grant Wood's “American Gothic” 1930 being last.At the back of the book, there is an alphabetical listing of the artists and interesting information about each of them. The rendering of the designs by Marty Noble is beautifully done. Most of the designs are detailed while only a few of them have intricate and small areas to color. What I really appreciate about Ms. Noble is that she generally leaves plenty of room for shading and highlighting if you choose to try those. This is what I saw while coloring in this book and testing the paper with my coloring medium.60 designs derived from Masterpiece artworks – line drawings by Marty NobleThe designs are printed one side of the pagePaper is the usual Creative Haven quality: white, medium weight, slightly rough and has perforated pages.Glue Binding but with perforated pages so removing a page is fairly simple. The designs stop well before the perforationsThumbnail prints of the original 60 art works are on the inside flap of the covers and the back of the book.Alcohol-based markers bleed through this paperWater-based markers bleed through in spots and show colorful shadows on the back of the pageGel pens and India ink pens leave shadows of color on the back of the page. India ink pens can bleed through when I apply more than one layer of ink.Coloring pencils work well with this paper. I was able to get good color, layer the same color and multiple colors and blend easily using a pencil style blender. I tested both oil and wax-based pencils with similar results. Hard lead pencils, like Verithins, leave dents on the back of the page.I suggest either removing pages from the book to color or using a blotter page under your working page. I like card stock as it keeps ink from seeping through and damaging the pages below.

Super impressed!
the book is a normal sized sheet of paper. I originally bought these to color before bed to help me sleep. I can't color a full-page before bed, there's so much space. I'm thrilled with this book and it'll last me for at least 6 months.

Very nice images and a good assortment of the classics
There are some works of art I am familiar with, and some I am not.. but I like all of them! I color with markers, Sharpies to be exact. These images are probably better suited to a good quality wax pencil/crayon because the markers feel too harsh for some of the images. The pages will bleed through (especially considering I am using Sharpies) so I make a copy of each image instead of coloring in the book itself. There are lots of pages - 60, and hours of fun recreating the classic or putting your own personal spin on them. I would not recommend this for a child however, it is definitely for the more advanced "colorer".

Great coloring book of art masterpieces
This "Art Masterpieces to Color" coloring book features 60 paintings by well-known artists such as “Mona Lisa” by Leonardo da Vinci, “The Scream” by Edvard Munch, “Persistence of Memory” by Salivador Dali, and “American Gothic” by Grant Wood. The “paintings” may be done in whatever colors you like. Should you wish to make them look like the originals, the colored works are featured on the inside of the front and back covers. Unlike many coloring books, the pages are one-sided, allowing you to use markers if you so choose. (You would probably want to place a couple of pieces of paper under the page you are coloring, however, to protect the next coloring page.) There are notes on the various artists and paintings in the back of the book. This is a great coloring book to expose young ones (or those young-at-heart) to many of the art masterpieces from various centuries. While I am glad the pages are single-sided, it would be nice if there were perforations so you easily remove pages from the book if desired.

So many artists and styles! Educational as well as fun!
I'm so happy to get this! It has so many different styles of painting and so many different artists. If you want to color it as the artist did (personally, I think that is boring, but whatever milks your gurnsey), they offer pictures--though they are rather small. No matter--as these are famous works, you can probably find and print a copy online. They give a brief biography of the artists in the back. They give the picture name and the artist that did it. I look forward to learning a bit about the artists as well as relaxing with the coloring.Of course, me personally, I'm not going to paint it like the artist. Mona Lisa is going to have pink skin with purple tribal tattoos and green hair. ;)
